Building on novel digital technologies, it enables smart and flexible manufacturing with systems connected across company boundaries and product lifecycle phases. Despite its benefits, the adoption of i4.0 has been limited, especially in small and medium-sized enterprises. A key challenge is the technological complexity of i4.0. While advanced functionality requires technological complexity, it complicates an understanding of which enabling technologies are particularly useful and required. This article presents a framework to support successful i4.0 adoption across the entire product generation process through a systematic matrix-based dependency analysis of i4.0 solutions and underlying i4.0 technologies. Through increasing transparency around technological complexity of i4.0 solutions, this research contributes to a better understanding of which technologies are required for specific i4.0 solutions and which technologies could be strategic enablers for a broad variety of i4.0 applications. Knowing these technological dependencies supports both, the systematic adoption of existing i4.0 solutions and the development of new i4.0 solutions. This also sets the basis for a future socio-technical investigation. For sustainable growth, advanced technology is necessary. However, selecting technology is a difficult task due to the wide variety of options in the market. Technology has become a fundamental strategic factor for the growth and profitability of companies. The main objective of this paper is to propose a model and a methodological proposal for technology selection in the context of Industry 4.0 manufacturing. The proposed methodology is divided into three stages: The first stage is of knowledge and intervention, which allows for the socialization of the model and data collection. The second stage is the operational stage, where a hybrid method of FAHP and FANP is used to determine the weights of the factors considered. Lastly, the third stage is the analysis and evaluation stage, where the analysis, discussion, and evaluation of the results take place. To validate the proposed model, the methodology was applied to two case studies in Chilean industrial companies. The results obtained through the FAHP and FANP algorithms enabled decision makers to manage and select the most suitable technology from the wide variety of options available in today’s markets. The purpose of our study is to shed light on the role of digital technologies in value creation, value delivery, and value capture within the business models of sustainable entrepreneurship. This is important for understanding how digital technologies leverage sustainability. In fact, we have little knowledge on the impact of digital technologies within the business models of sustainable entrepreneurship. We studied the adoption and usage of digital technologies within the business models of 10 born-sustainable new ventures in Mexico applying a comparative case study approach. We found that context matters. Extant research claims that digital technologies promote social inclusion, increase connectivity, and lead to broader stakeholder integration. Despite these claims, this is the most challenging part for entrepreneurs. Our main findings, therefore, emphasize the constraints of the implementation of digital technologies within sustainable business models. This adds to the academic discourse a cross-geographic perspective from the Global South. In this study, we use the organizational characteristics of Russian industrial companies and the role of innovation diffusion channels to explain the digitalization factors of Russian industrial enterprises. The database is grounded on the results of a sample survey of 1.7 thousand companies; empirical estimates include the construction of logit regressions. The results of the study are mixed: digitized companies are focused on the domestic market, but are receptive to technology transfer from foreign investors, examples of other Russian and foreign companies in the industry, developments of research centers in the field of robotics and artificial intelligence. The study of the relationship between digitalization and firms’ use of innovation channels has shown the importance of market incentives and flexible public innovation policy instruments. Direct government involvement as an owner in stimulating digitalization affects innovative companies using robots and 3D printing, while indirect government support measures are significant for innovative companies using artificial intelligence. This suggests that Russian companies overcome the barriers of resource constraints and organizational rigidity in different ways, and are also selectively susceptible to external incentives, which should be taken into account by the government in its policies LA - Russian DB - MTMT ER - TY - JOUR AU - Skalli, Dounia AU - Charkaoui, Abdelkabir AU - Cherrafi, Anass AU - Shokri, Alireza AU - Garza-Reyes, Jose Arturo AU - Antony, Jiju TI - Analysis of factors influencing Circular-Lean-Six Sigma 4.0 implementation considering sustainability implications: an exploratory study JF - INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF PRODUCTION RESEARCH J2 - INT J PROD RES VL - & PY - 2023 SP - 1 EP - 28 PG - 28 SN - 0020-7543 DO - 10.1080/00207543.2023.2251159 UR - https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34136942 ID - 34136942 LA - English DB - MTMT ER - TY - JOUR AU - Maarof, Mohd Ghazali AU - Nawanir, Gusman AU - Yusuf, Muhammad Fakhrul TI - REVIEW PAPER.
