In the context of the circular economy, with the implementation of circular housing from a cradle-to-cradle perspective, the field of housing construction is changing rapidly. Innovation and sharing improve the consumer experience and increase consumers’ purchase intention. This research integrates design attributes, sharing attributes, perceived value, and affective value to study the impact of circular housing on acceptance and identification. The framework of SOR theory framework is used to analyze the predictive factors of consumer intention. The results emphasize that emotional responses in terms of affective value, perceived value, and social equity are the most prominent. This research also utilizes the KJ method. The research methods include a literature review, field observations, expert interviews, questionnaire surveys, and triangulation validation. Moreover, this research uses PLS-SEM to analyze the data of 568 participants. The structural analysis shows that consumers’ acceptance and identification of circular housing are strongly influenced by social equity. A total of 16 out of 17 hypotheses are established, with eight partial mediating effects, including the mediating role of social equity. Perceived value is found to affect consumers’ cognition and attitudes Perceived value and design attributes, as well as these factors combined, influence consumer acceptance and identification. This research provides strategies to enhance the design of circular housing and promote its development. This research explores the relationship between consumers’ acceptance and identification of circular design and the development of circular housing. It first establishes a structural model based on the SOR theory. Adding the mental map of interview results to the model, the results of this research analyzes the design attribute value, and the SEM-PLS analysis influences highlights the identification and acceptance of circular housing.}, year = {2024}, eissn = {2071-1050}, orcid-numbers = {Lai, Chi-Hui/0009-0003-6556-5176} } @article{MTMT:34642430, title = {The Role of Voluntary Environmental Policies Towards Achieving Circularity}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34642430}, author = {Meleddu, Marta and Vecco, Marilena and Mazzanti, Massimiliano}, doi = {10.1016/j.ecolecon.2024.108134}, journal-iso = {ECOL ECON}, journal = {ECOLOGICAL ECONOMICS}, volume = {219}, unique-id = {34642430}, issn = {0921-8009}, year = {2024}, eissn = {1873-6106} } @article{MTMT:34781067, title = {A Methodology for Evaluating Sustainable Building Technology to Raise the Efficiency of Urban Clusters: Analytical Study}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34781067}, author = {Ahmed, Mai Niazy Moustafa and Goda, Abdullah Badawy Mohammed and Elattar, Sherif Mohamed Sabry}, doi = {10.15379/ijmst.v10i5.3627}, journal-iso = {International Journal of Membrane Science and Technology}, journal = {International Journal of Membrane Science and Technology}, volume = {10}, unique-id = {34781067}, abstract = {Sustainability evaluation methodologies are distinguished from other evaluation tools, such as the LEED system and the BREEAM system, in that they include a new local evaluation methodology. Understanding the classification of assessment tools based on the building to be assessed, tool users, and building life cycle stages will inform selection of appropriate assessment tools and development of a comprehensive methodology. The study aimed to extract and evaluate opinions and perspectives from users, stakeholders, and researchers about the current status of sustainable technology in urban communities and to analyze the basic factors and indicators that contributed to the efficiency of urban communities and their relationship to sustainable technology. An inductive and analytical research was conducted using a questionnaire form on a sample of 100 participants to collect the opinions of users, relevant authorities, and researchers in the field. The questionnaire was designed to collect opinions and perspectives from different groups, including residents, local authorities (such as provincial officials, engineering administration, etc.), and experts in the field of sustainable technology. Given the huge quantity of fossil-based plastics that are produced and consumed annually in Zimbabwe, consumers’ acceptance of these products may assist the country to smoothly transitioning from the current linear economic system (LES) towards a circular economic system (CES). The main purpose of the study was to explore factors that might influence the successful marketing of bioplastic products by Zimbabwe firms. With the aid of a structural regression equation, the study used a correlational design where quantitative data were collected from a random sample of 100 respondents. The findings show that self-identity, perceived value, cognitive biases and self-congruity were all positive and statistically significant at various levels of confidence. Zimbabwe plastic firms should consider these factors if they are to successfully implement strategies that increase the acceptance of bioplastic products. The adoption of discontinuous green technologies that reduce the cost of producing bioplastic products is recommended in order to increase the perceived value of bioplastics. Due to the complexity of urban water systems and their relevance for urban life, a holistic and integrative perspective is therefore needed to inform policymakers addressing such challenges. In this paper, Urban Water Metabolism (UWM) has been used to offer a comprehensive understanding of current water insecurity in the City of Puebla and its metropolitan area. Water inflows and outflows have been estimated using the Material Flow Analysis (MFA) method with data either obtained from official sources or simulated with the Monte Carlo method. Our findings show that the UWM configuration in the City of Puebla and its metropolitan area is effective for generating profits for service providers and water-related businesses, yet ineffective for guaranteeing citizens’ Human Right to Water and Sanitation (HRWS), a right recognized in the Constitution of Mexico. We conclude that to advance towards an inclusive and sustainable long-term provision of water, economic goals must follow socio-ecological goals, not the other way around. We consider UWM accounting useful for informing policy and decision-making processes seeking to build a new water governance based on both the best available knowledge and inclusive and vibrant social participation.}, year = {2023}, eissn = {2071-1050}, orcid-numbers = {Pérez-González, David/0000-0003-4011-7345; Circular Economy is a promising concept for industry and society. If implemented well, Circular Economy can deliver environmental benefits and economic advantages for which innovation is essential. To achieve a resource-efficient built environment the Circular Economy should be developed and implemented systemically and on a large scale, going beyond cities. To realise this, local authorities, citizens, and other stakeholders need a collaborative and science-informed decision environment that allows for developing different waste and resource management options, and assessing their impacts on the environment, resilience, spatial quality and quality of life. The articles in this special issue all discuss different aspects of research to deliver solutions and strategies for a circular economy in urban planning throughout Europe, focusing on peri-urban locations. The first article introduces Living Labs as a methodology to co-create circular solutions and strategies with local stakeholders. The second article focuses on governance for the shift towards a Circular Economy, unravelling hindrances and revealing objectives, whereas the third article develops a means to transfer circular strategies and solutions from one location to another. The fourth article presents an open-source tool based on the geodesign approach which links the co-creation of design proposals to impact simulations informed by geographic contexts, systems thinking, and digital technology-the Geodesign Decision Support Environment. Finally, the fifth article presents the first results of incorporating the concept of Circular Economy in an integrative manner in urban design and planning courses.}, keywords = {Waste management; resource management; Knowledge transfer; circular economy; Urban metabolism; circular metabolism; geo decision support environment; new ways of governance; peri-urban living labs; wastescapes}, year = {2019}, eissn = {2183-7635}, pages = {1-4}, orcid-numbers = {Remoy, Hilde/0000-0001-6911-0310} }
