To obtain estimates for these parameters, a three-dimensional finite element method model was developed for the sensor and specimen containing defects. The outcomes obtained from the simulation were employed as training data for the k-Nearest Neighbors (k-NN) algorithm. Subsequently, the k-NN algorithm was employed to determine the defect parameters by leveraging the available measurement outcomes. The evaluation of classification accuracy for different combinations of predictors derived from measured data is also presented in this study. LA - English DB - MTMT ER - TY - JOUR AU - Cheng, J. The new method uses excitation in the form of pulses repeated at a specified time, containing several periods of a waveform consisting of the sum of sinusoids with a selected frequency, amplitude and phase. This solution allows the maintenance of the advantages of multifrequency excitation and, at the same time, generates high energy pulses similar to those used in pulse eddy current testing (PECT). The effectiveness of the new method was confirmed by numerical simulations and the measurement of thin Inconel plates, consisting of notches manufactured by the electric-discharge method. Although this way is quite efficient, it is not available to obtain the circumferential information of the defect due to its inherent disadvantage. In this study, a novel probe has been proposed which can obtain both axial and circumferential information of defects, still with high efficiency. During testing, the probe carries out axial scan for defect searching in axial direction, and when defect is discovered, the circumferential eccentric rotating scan module will be executed. Thus, this novel probe can achieve multiple defect information with high efficiency. The specific research contents are as follows. Firstly, the eccentric and rotatable EC probe is designed suitably for small-diameter tubes, with the simulation model built up for signal analysis. Then, the feasibility of this novel probe is verified by integrating the obtained simulation data, showing the advantages of the developed probe for obtaining both axial and circumferential multiple information of defects in small-diameter tube. Finally, the novel probe is fabricated, and the testing system is established. The corresponding experiments are conducted, certifying the superiority and efficiency of the new type of probe further. To improve the accuracy of defect profile reconstruction, an improved reconstruction method based on modified cuckoo search (CS), called MCS, is proposed in this paper. Firstly, a novel single-dimension updating evolution strategy is proposed to avoid the interference between multiple dimensions, which can make full use of the appropriate nest position in the historical search. Secondly, an adaptive multi-strategy difference evolution is introduced into the evolution process to improve the diversity and efficiency of CS algorithm. The proportion factor of each strategy in multi-strategy difference evolution is adjusted dynamically according to the value of the objective fitness. Finally, various MFL signals are selected to verify the effectiveness of the proposed MCS algorithm. The experiment results illustrate that the proposed method has high performance on the quality of the solution and robustness for noise. LA - English DB - MTMT ER - TY - JOUR AU - Li, P. AU - Xie, S.
