The paper adopts a qualitative approach combining an auto-ethnographic direct observation of a journey and the content analysis of photos and videos posted on the YouTube and Facebook pages of tourists and operators. A total of 44 geotagged photos from a sample of 6914 photos retrieved from Flickr allowed the classification and spatial distribution of several CES: (1) recreational—surf activities; (2) aesthetic—photography; (3) spiritual—dark tourism and risk recreation; (4) intangible heritage—maritime knowledge; (5) scientific—wave height forecast; (6) sense of place; and (7) social relations. The paper also proposes a theoretical framework that highlights the pull drivers (risk recreation, storm chasing, or spectacular death voyeurism) and the push drivers (e.g., marketing campaigns and wave forecasts alerts) that explain the behaviors of the big-wave spectators/chasers during the experience journey. Public decision-makers, destination marketing organizations, tourism operators, and business entrepreneurs must acknowledge the relevance of journey mapping in order to identify the moments of stress and the touchpoints associated with peak/positive experiences generated by these CES. This study confirms some push and pull factors assessed by previous studies. Researchers have attempted to underline authenticity's antecedents, but little is known about the predictive role of gender differences and flow experiences together. Authenticity and flow experiences have been widely studied in psychology, sociology, and philosophy and have profoundly impacted an individual's well-being and happiness. Since it is a multi-component concept that many areas can discuss for personal growth and self-discovery, we focused on authenticity's individual and socio-demographic antecedents. In the current study, we examined flow experiences as an individual concept that may explain authenticity and the moderator role of gender in the relations between flow experiences and authenticity. Considering the antecedents of authenticity, it is beneficial to indicate how flow experiences lead to authenticity and gender differences in it. We used the Flow State Scale and Authenticity Scale as data collection tools. We followed a cross-sectional and correlational research design. The participants consist of 310 university students (190 females and 120 males) studying at various departments of Ataturk University. Results revealed that there was a significant correlation between flow experiences and authenticity. Furthermore, regression-based moderation analysis demonstrated that flow experiences were a significant predictor of authenticity, and gender moderates the relationship between flow experiences and authenticity. Results were interpreted as grounded in positive psychology literature. Researchers have carried out many studies to clarify its antecedents and reduce this addiction. However, little is known about the positive effect of flow experiences in reducing social media addiction. In this context, the goal of this current research is to determine the mediator role of flow experiences in the relations between perceived stress and social media addiction. Participants comprised 542 university students (377 female and 165 male). The research used the Social Media Addiction Scale, the Perceived Stress Scale, and the Flow State Scale. Research results demonstrate that perceived stress and social media addiction have a statistically significant positive correlation, while flow experiences have a negative correlation. The findings also showed a bad correlation between social media addiction and experiences of flow. The mediation analysis results showed that flow experiences have a statistically significant mediating role in the relationships between perceived stress and social media addiction. Research findings underline that the positive effect of flow experiences is essential in reducing perceived stress’s impact on social media addiction. Researchers have conducted numerous studies to identify the antecedents and consequences of academic procrastination. However, more research on the role of academic procrastination on well-being within the framework of flow theory is required. This study aims to determine the mediating role of flow experiences in the predictive effect of academic procrastination on well-being. This study, designed following relational research, was conducted on 818 undergraduate students. Correlation analysis and mediation analysis were applied to analyze the data. The results showed that well-being and flow experiences decreased as academic procrastination increased. Mediation analysis results confirmed that the predictive effect of academic procrastination on well-being occurred through flow experiences. The results underline that flow experiences should be considered in studies to reduce academic procrastination. The study highlights Csaba Pléh's analyzes as a significant contribution to the exploration of the ideological antecedents of the high-hoping movement in which he points out that the precedents ofthe factors highlighted in the human image of modern PP have been well identifiable in European psychology since the middle ofthe 19th century. Referring to the views of J. S. Mill, Karl Bühler and W. Stern towards positive psychology, he draws attention to the fact that the self-determined, value-oriented ima.ge of man is not an exclusive "American product". Presenting the Hungarian Positive Psychology situation, the study takes stock of the topics brought into focus by positive psychology (flow, emotional intelligence, spirituality, meaning-seeking, wellbeing, mental health, happiness orientation) in the Hungarian PP workshops (ELTE, Positive Psychology Laboratory, Szeged). University, Károli Gáspár Reformed University, University of Pécs) have also achieved results in international recognition. As evidence of the prevalence of PP in Hungary, the study highlights that the number of Hungarian positive psychological publications surveyed in 2012 tripled by 2020, with a spectacular increase in the number of young researchers working on PP topics and PhD dissertations on PP topics. PP at all levels of university education (BA, MA, Doctoral training) has been included in the curriculum. There is also an increasing supply of books compiled from works written by Hungarian experts, from which we can learn about the practical application of PP in various branches of psychology. The study praises the merits of Mihály Csikszentmihalyi in promoting the development of Hungarian PP. © 2021 A szerzo(k). Some of them may serve as risk factors, while others mean protection. The main goal of present study was to determine user profiles and to examine differences among them based on several psychological variables using cluster analysis. Data were collected from high school and university students via an online questionnaire from November 2017 to January 2018 (N = 249; females: 62.2%, Mean age = 22.5 years, SD = 3.5). Based on bivariate correlations, sensation seeking, flow and boredom proneness acted as risk factors for developing problematic technological use. However, self-esteem, self-regulation and resilience were significant protective factors against problematic technological use. In an effort to develop a set of profiles that would capture this student population and their usage relative to risk, we identified four distinct user profiles through the use of cluster analysis. The first cluster was labeled as strongly protected sensation-seekers who were more prone to problematic use (18.5%) with moderately high levels of protection, but with the highest scores on the boredom proneness and sensation seeking scales. The second cluster consisted of more balanced and non-vulnerable users (26.1%), who achieved average scores on both risk and protective factors scales. The third cluster was labeled protected, conscious users who were slightly prone to problematic use (39.8%) with lower levels of problematic use and risk factors, and with higher levels of protective factors. The fourth cluster was labeled as strongly problematic, unprotected users (15.7%), who achieved the highest scores of problematic use, and were the less protected having the lowest levels of protective factors scores. We conclude that cluster analysis was suitable for detecting differences in vulnerability to problematic Internet and smartphone use. Psychological factors, such as sensation seeking, flow and boredom, self-esteem, self-regulation and resilience serve as useful tools for providing information to better understanding the role of risk and protective factors in the prevention of youth's problematic use of digital devices.
