There has been a continuing interest in the industry to have robust condition monitoring, prognostics and health management tools to support the condition based maintenance and predictive maintenance program for such valves. For critical assets like SOVs, it is of paramount interest to understand why a component might be declared as defective. In such a situation, a first principle-model based approach will always be preferred to a purely data-driven approach, because of its inherent interpretability. Furthermore, first principle-models typically have less free parameters than their data driven counterparts and will require less data to identify their parameters. In this paper, we present the improvement of a first-principle model of alternating current (AC) powered SOVs taking into account two important degradation effects. Using this model, we show that the state of degradation can be estimated from current and input voltage measurement signals on the solenoids. Az ilyen szelepek átömlési karakterisztikájának ismerete különösen azokon a területeken fontos, ahol rövid válaszidejű pneumatikus rendszerekben szabályzószelepként kerül alkalmazásra. A jelenleg alkalmazott szelepmodellek csak korlátozottan használhatók az általam vizsgált EP szelep modellezésére. Ezért egy olyan szelepmodell felállítása volt az elsidleges cél, amely az általam vizsgált szelepcsoport esetén kellő pontossággal képes visszaadni az átömlési tényezőt. Mivel az EP szelep átömlési karakterisztikáját meglehetősen sok paraméter befolyásolja, ezért dimenzióanalízis segítségével kíséreltem meg a változók számát csökkenteni. Az eredményül kapott dimenziótlan csoportok határozták meg a kutatási irányt. Ennek során arra a megállapításra jutottam, hogy egy jól alkalmazható szelepmodell kidolgozásához célszerű először egy analitikus modellt felállítani. Az általam kidolgozott modell az eddigiekhez képest a teljes nyomásviszony-tartományon képes leírni az átömlési karakterisztikát. A modern, magas integráltsági fokú pneumatikus rendszerekben a nagynyomású levegő általában egy EP szelepen keresztül áramlik az egyik kamrából a másikba. Ezek a rendszerek általában rendelkeznek beépített nyomásérzékelőkkel és beépített csatlakozókkal külső berendezések csatlakoztatására. Ebből kiindulva kidolgoztam egy új mérési módszertant, melynek segítségével pneumatikus szelepek nyomásviszony-függő átömlési karakterisztikája állítható fel a teljes nyomásviszony-tartományon. A numerikus áramlástani (CFD) vizsgálat számos esetben az egyetlen lehetőség arra, hogy az áramlások részleteiről is információkat kapjunk, ill. a geometriai változtatások jóval könnyebben végezhetők el, mint mérési összeállítás esetében. Ezért elkészítettem a szelepcsalád CFD modelljét, majd numerikus áramlástani vizsgálatokat végeztem, melynek eredményeit mérésekkel validáltam. Az áramlás szerkezetét és az átömlési tényező változását az irodalomban talált eseteknél szélesebb körű és részletesebb vizsgálatnak vetettem alá. Kutatási témám elsődleges célja volt egy nagy pontosságú szelepmodell felállítása. Az analitikus modell az alkalmazott elhanyagolások, ill. az eltérő geometria miatt nem alkalmas erre a célra. Ugyanakkor elméleti alapokon nyugszik és segítségével a karakterisztika expliciten számolható, így jó alapot biztosít egy félempirikus modell létrehozására. Így az általam kidolgozott analitikus modell és a kísérletekkel alátámasztott numerikus áramlástani vizsgálatok alapján felállítottam egy félempirikus modellt, mely a geometria különféle változását is képes figyelembe venni. The paper presents a flexible computational simulation tool being applied in industrial research and development related to complex mechatronics in brake systems for commercial vehicles. The Electric Braking System (EBS) case study presented herein comprises an air supply unit, an EBS modulator, piping, a diaphragm brake chamber, and the connected brake mechanism. The simulation environment is AMESim® 3.0. Considering the complexity of the EP components and the related phenomena, special models have been elaborated for the solenoid valves, piping, and the diaphragm brake chamber. The simulation results show good agreement with measurement data. Their aim is to ensure a controlled operating pressure modulated at a high accuracy and high temporal resolution. This paper reports a computational case study representing the influence of gas dynamic pipe flow effects on the operation of a pneumatic system to be controlled by means of an EPM. The simulation has been carried out with use of simulation software AMESim version 3.01. Given that no standard gas dynamic pipe model and electro-dynamically-relevant solenoid valve model are included in the present version of the simulation software, such models had to be elaborated by the authors. The simulation studies reveal that the self-developed gas dynamic pipe model resolves properly the wave effects and flow fluctuations expected from a realistic pneumatic pipe performing high velocity flow. The simulation must accurately resolve such phenomena if the computational study aims to provide an aid to the design of a proper pressure control loop.
