AB  - Conveyance capability has changed signifi cantly in the last decades of the Tisza River. As a result
of human interventions and natural changes of the river bed the elevations and durability of floods are continuously growing. Increasingly higher fl oods are more and more threatening the settlements of the region, agricultural areas and people’s livelihood. Hydrology and hydrodynamic modeling play an important role in avoiding fl ood damage as well as in the solutions to mitigate the destruction.
