During the last few years, genetic, transcriptomic and metabolomic approaches have unravelled key functions of different polyamines in the regulation of abiotic stress tolerance. Nevertheless, the precise molecular mechanism(s) by which polyamines control plant responses to stress stimuli are largely unknown. Recent studies indicate that polyamine signalling is involved in direct interactions with different metabolic routes and intricate hormonal cross-talks. Here we discuss the integration of polyamines with other metabolic pathways by focusing on molecular mechanisms of their action in abiotic stress tolerance. Recent advances in the cross talk between polyamines and abscisic acid are discussed and integrated with processes of reactive oxygen species (ROS) signalling, generation of nitric oxide, modulation of ion channel activities and Ca2+ homeostasis, amongst others.}, year = {2010}, eissn = {1432-2048}, pages = {1237-1249} } @article{MTMT:1145067, title = {Effect of drought stress at supraoptimal temperature on polyamine concentrations in transgenic soybean with increased proline levels}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/1145067}, author = {Simonné Sarkadi, Livia and Kocsy, Gábor and Varhegyi, A and Galiba, Gábor and de Ronde, JA}, doi = {10.1515/znc-2006-11-1211}, journal-iso = {Z NATURFORSCH C}, journal = {ZEITSCHRIFT FÜR NATURFORSCHUNG C-A JOURNAL OF BIOSCIENCES}, volume = {61}, unique-id = {1145067}, issn = {0939-5075}, year = {2006}, eissn = {1865-7125}, pages = {833-839} } @article{MTMT:1145047, title = {CHROMOSOMAL LOCALIZATION OF OSMOTIC AND SALT STRESS-INDUCED DIFFERENTIAL ALTERATIONS IN POLYAMINE CONTENT IN WHEAT}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/1145047}, author = {Galiba, Gábor and Kocsy, Gábor and KAURSAWHNEY, R and SUTKA, J and GALSTON, AW}, doi = {10.1016/0168-9452(93)90207-G}, journal-iso = {PLANT SCI}, journal = {PLANT SCIENCE}, volume = {92}, unique-id = {1145047}, issn = {0168-9452}, year = {1993}, eissn = {1873-2259}, pages = {203-211} } @article{MTMT:1145045, title = {GENOTYPE DEPENDENT ADAPTATION OF WHEAT-VARIETIES TO WATER-STRESS INVITRO}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/1145045}, author = {Galiba, Gábor and Simonné Sarkadi, Livia and Salgó, András and Kocsy, Gábor}, doi = {10.1016/S0176-1617(89)80035-5}, journal-iso = {J PLANT PHYSIOL}, journal = {JOURNAL OF PLANT PHYSIOLOGY}, volume = {134}, unique-id = {1145045}, issn = {0176-1617}, year = {1989}, eissn = {1618-1328}, pages = {730-735} }
