Yet, our understanding of how network topology influences metapopulation synchrony in these ecosystems remains limited. Here, we introduce the concept of fluvial synchrogram to formulate and test expectations regarding the geography of metapopulation synchrony across watersheds. By combining theoretical simulations and an extensive fish population time-series dataset across Europe, we provide evidence that fish metapopulations can be buffered against synchronous dynamics as a direct consequence of network connectivity and branching complexity. Synchrony was higher between populations connected by direct water flow and decayed faster with distance over the Euclidean than the watercourse dimension. Likewise, synchrony decayed faster with distance in headwater than mainstem populations of the same basin. As network topology and flow directionality generate fundamental spatial patterns of synchrony in fish metapopulations, empirical synchrograms can aid knowledge advancement and inform conservation strategies in complex habitats.}, keywords = {SERIES; Network topology; Spatial patterns; Spatial synchrony; metapopulations; Fish time‐; fluvial variography}, year = {2021}, eissn = {1461-0248}, pages = {791-801}, orcid-numbers = {Larsen, Stefano/0000-0002-6774-1407; Comte, Lise/0000-0001-8030-0019; Jacquet, Claire/0000-0002-7913-0689; Ryser, Remo/0000-0002-3771-8986; Giam, Xingli/0000-0002-5239-9477} } @article{MTMT:32147985, title = {Environmental drivers of benthic fish assemblages and fish‐habitat associations in offshore areas of a very large river}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/32147985}, author = {Szalóky, Zoltán and Füstös, Vivien and Tóth, Balazs and Erős, Tibor}, doi = {10.1002/rra.3793}, journal-iso = {RIVER RES APPL}, journal = {RIVER RESEARCH AND APPLICATIONS}, volume = {37}, unique-id = {32147985}, issn = {1535-1459}, year = {2021}, eissn = {1535-1467}, pages = {712-721} } @article{MTMT:32095255, title = {Comparison of the Genetic Structure of Invasive Bigheaded Carp (Hypophthalmichthys spp.) Populations in Central-European Lacustrine and Riverine Habitats}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/32095255}, author = {Molnár, Tamás Gergely and Lehoczky, István and Edviné Meleg, Erika and Boros, Gergely and Specziár, András and Mozsár, Attila and Vitál, Zoltán and Józsa, Vilmos and Allele, Wahiba and Urbányi, Béla and ALFATLE, FATEMA ALI and Kovács, Balázs}, doi = {10.3390/ani11072018}, journal-iso = {ANIMALS-BASEL}, journal = {ANIMALS}, volume = {11}, unique-id = {32095255}, year = {2021}, eissn = {2076-2615}, orcid-numbers = {Molnár, Tamás Gergely/0000-0003-1752-4268; Kovács, Balázs/0000-0003-1753-5098} } @article{MTMT:32094622, title = {ATP signaling in the integrative neural center of Aplysia californica}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/32094622}, author = {Győri, János and Kohn, Andrea B. and Romanova, Daria Y. and Moroz, Leonid L.}, doi = {10.1038/s41598-021-84981-5}, journal-iso = {SCI REP}, journal = {SCIENTIFIC REPORTS}, volume = {11}, unique-id = {32094622}, issn = {2045-2322}, year = {2021}, eissn = {2045-2322} } @article{MTMT:32090771, title = {Multi‐Species Occupancy Modeling Provides Novel Insights into Amphibian Metacommunity Structure and Wetland Restoration.
