Efficient implementation of the water safety plan (WSP) approach, recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO), is facilitated by an auditing framework. In Hungary, development of WSPs is a legal obligation for water suppliers. WSPs are subject to a two-stage regulatory audit, a consultative central technical audit and a formal local audit. In 2019, a survey was conducted in cooperation with WHO to evaluate audit experiences of over 1,200 WSPs. Recommendations from the central audit significantly improved coherence and compliance of WSPs, confirming the efficiency of the dual approach. The use of a WSP template provided by the national authority further increased consistency and reduced time and work demand of the audit. Both water suppliers and public health authorities indicated a need for further capacity building on WSP development and auditing. The main challenge for water suppliers is the identification and risk assessment of hazards associated with the water source and distribution within premises. The recast European Union drinking water regulation is expected to accelerate the uptake of WSP and strengthen linkages to water catchment management and water safety in buildings.}, keywords = {microbiology; drinking water; IMPLEMENTATION; FRAMEWORK; Audit; Public, Environmental & Occupational Health; Environmental Sciences; Risk-based approach; water safety plan}, year = {2023}, eissn = {1996-7829}, pages = {1663-1675} } @article{MTMT:34135611, title = {Exposome and unhealthy aging: environmental drivers from air pollution to occupational exposures}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34135611}, author = {Pándics, Tamás and Major, Dávid and Fazekas-Pongor, Vince and Szarvas, Zsófia and Péterfi, Anna and Mukli, Péter and Gulej, Rafal and Ungvari, Anna and Fekete, Mónika and Tompa, Anna and Tarantini, Stefano and Yabluchanskiy, Andriy and Conley, Shannon and Csiszar, Anna and Tabák, Ádám and Benyó, Zoltán and Ádány, Róza and Ungvári, Zoltán István}, doi = {10.1007/s11357-023-00913-3}, journal-iso = {GEROSCIENCE}, journal = {GEROSCIENCE: OFFICIAL JOURNAL OF THE AMERICAN AGING ASSOCIATION (AGE)}, volume = {45}, unique-id = {34135611}, issn = {2509-2715}, abstract = {The aging population worldwide is facing a significant increase in age-related non-communicable diseases, including cardiovascular and brain pathologies. This comprehensive review paper delves into the impact of the exposome, which encompasses the totality of environmental exposures, on unhealthy aging. It explores how environmental factors contribute to the acceleration of aging processes, increase biological age, and facilitate the development and progression of a wide range of age-associated diseases. The impact of environmental factors on cognitive health and the development of chronic age-related diseases affecting the cardiovascular system and central nervous system is discussed, with a specific focus on Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, stroke, small vessel disease, and vascular cognitive impairment (VCI). Aging is a major risk factor for these diseases. Their pathogenesis involves cellular and molecular mechanisms of aging such as increased oxidative stress, impaired mitochondrial function, DNA damage, and inflammation and is influenced by environmental factors. Environmental toxicants, including ambient particulate matter, pesticides, heavy metals, and organic solvents, have been identified as significant contributors to cardiovascular and brain aging disorders. These toxicants can inflict both macro- and microvascular damage and many of them can also cross the blood–brain barrier, inducing neurotoxic effects, neuroinflammation, and neuronal dysfunction. In conclusion, environmental factors play a critical role in modulating cardiovascular and brain aging. A deeper understanding of how environmental toxicants exacerbate aging processes and contribute to the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative diseases, VCI, and dementia is crucial for the development of preventive strategies and interventions to promote cardiovascular, cerebrovascular, and brain health. By mitigating exposure to harmful environmental factors and promoting healthy aging, we can strive to reduce the burden of age-related cardiovascular and brain pathologies in the aging population.}, year = {2023}, eissn = {2509-2723}, pages = {3381-3408}, orcid-numbers = {Major, Dávid/0000-0002-6108-9745; Fazekas-Pongor, Vince/0000-0002-6405-4003; Szarvas, Zsófia/0000-0002-0022-5053; Mukli, Péter/0000-0003-4355-8103; Fekete, Mónika/0000-0001-8632-2120; Tarantini, Stefano/0000-0001-5627-1430; Tabák, Ádám/0000-0002-6234-3936; Benyó, Zoltán/0000-0001-6015-0359; Ungvári, Zoltán István/0000-0002-6035-6039} } @article{MTMT:33864634, title = {Wastewater-based modeling, reconstruction, and prediction for COVID-19 outbreaks in Hungary caused by highly immune evasive variants}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/33864634}, author = {Polcz, Péter and Tornai, Kálmán and Juhász, János and Cserey, György Gábor and Surján, György and Pándics, Tamás and Róka, Eszter and Vargha, Márta and Reguly, István Zoltán and Csikász-Nagy, Attila and Pongor, Sándor and Szederkényi, Gábor}, doi = {10.1016/j.watres.2023.120098}, journal-iso = {WATER RES}, journal = {WATER RESEARCH}, volume = {241}, unique-id = {33864634}, issn = {0043-1354}, year = {2023}, eissn = {1879-2448}, orcid-numbers = {Tornai, Kálmán/0000-0003-1852-0816; Surján, György/0000-0001-5836-7647; Reguly, István Zoltán/0000-0002-4385-4204; Csikász-Nagy, Attila/0000-0002-2919-5601; Szederkényi, Gábor/0000-0003-4199-6089} } @article{MTMT:33171064, title = {A hallgatói lemorzsolódás dimenziói}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/33171064}, author = {Kádár, László Csaba and Sinka, Magdolna and Pándics, Tamás}, journal-iso = {NÉPEGÉSZSÉGÜGY}, journal = {NÉPEGÉSZSÉGÜGY}, volume = {99}, unique-id = {33171064}, issn = {0369-3805}, year = {2022}, pages = {205-206}, orcid-numbers = {Kádár, László Csaba/0000-0002-1379-2815; Sinka, Magdolna/0000-0003-4649-1012} } @CONFERENCE{MTMT:33168809, title = {Regional Groundwater Flow Studies To Integrate A Shallow Soda Lake Into the Gravity-Driven Groundwater Flow System – A Case Study From Hungary}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/33168809}, author = {Baják, Petra and Hegedűs-Csondor, Katalin and Tiljander, Mia and Korkka-Niemi, Kirsti and Izsák, Bálint and Vargha, Márta and Pándics, Tamás and Tóth, Ádám and Csepregi, András and Erőss, Anita}, booktitle = {49th IAH Congress Abstracts}, unique-id = {33168809}, year = {2022}, pages = {140349}, orcid-numbers = {Hegedűs-Csondor, Katalin/0000-0002-3368-9620; Tóth, Ádám/0000-0002-7300-6687; Erőss, Anita/0000-0002-2395-3934} } @article{MTMT:33165996, title = {A lakosság csapvíz minőséggel kapcsolatos ismereteinek és gyakori tévhiteinek felmérése}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/33165996}, author = {Feczák, Luca Diána and Nagy, Zoltán and Vargha, Márta and Sebestyén, Ágnes and Pándics, Tamás}, doi = {10.29179/EgTud.2022.1.21-28}, journal-iso = {EGÉSZSÉGTUDOMÁNY}, journal = {EGÉSZSÉGTUDOMÁNY}, volume = {66}, unique-id = {33165996}, issn = {0013-2268}, year = {2022}, pages = {21-28} } @misc{MTMT:33163175, title = {Ápolók attitűdjének vizsgálata a luminométer alkalmazása során}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/33163175}, author = {Farkas, Krisztián József and Horváth, Mónika and Rajki, Veronika and Kádár, László Csaba}, unique-id = {33163175}, year = {2022}, orcid-numbers = {Rajki, Veronika/0000-0003-1738-0209; Kádár, László Csaba/0000-0002-1379-2815} }
