An undecorated body sherd, not picked up by either the initial typological evaluation of the ceramics or by the preliminary petrographic analysis, was now reassessed by thin section ceramic petrography and scanning electron microscopy. The new analyses revealed that this sherd contains rock and mineral inclusions originated from ophiolites, including slightly serpentinised peridotite fragments. Such rocks do not occur on the surface in Hungary, whereas they are commonly found in the Eastern Mediterranean. The presence of ophiolites in the potsherd indicates that this vessel was produced in a distant territory. The macroscopic characteristics of the sherd combined with its petrographic fingerprint suggest that this pot might have been a transport amphora produced in the Eastern Mediterranean. Although rarely found in Pannonia in the Migration Period, several amphora types, including the most frequently found LRA 1 type, were produced in numerous production centres in the Eastern Mediterranean, in territories geologically congruous with the aplastic inclusions found in the fabric of the Balatonlelle sherd. The significance of this finding is that from Langobard age Pannonia, amphorae occur only sporadically, connected mainly to former Roman settlements. While any conclusions drawn from a single sherd must necessarily remain tentative, this sherd nonetheless provides some material evidence for the existence of some sort of contact between Balatonlelle and the Eastern Mediterranean during the 6th century, be it economic, political or cultural. This study also aims to celebrate the career of György Szakmány, who was one of the key figures to establish ceramic petrographic research and education in Hungary, and trained many generations of petrographers – including the present authors. As such, it also serves as an example how ceramic petrography can bring a new dimension of information to archaeological research.}, year = {2024}, pages = {201-216} } @article{MTMT:34786414, title = {Road Type Classification Using Time-Frequency Representations of Tire Sensor Signals}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34786414}, author = {Dózsa, Tamás and Jurdana, V and Segota, S B and Volk, János and Radó, János and Soumelidis, Alexandros and Kovács, Péter}, doi = {10.1109/ACCESS.2024.3382931}, journal-iso = {IEEE ACCESS}, journal = {IEEE ACCESS}, volume = {12}, unique-id = {34786414}, issn = {2169-3536}, year = {2024}, eissn = {2169-3536}, pages = {53361-53372}, orcid-numbers = {Volk, János/0000-0003-3633-6190; Soumelidis, Alexandros/0000-0002-0067-7746; Kovács, Péter/0000-0002-0772-9721} } @article{MTMT:34727545, title = {Az ionsugaras adalékolás és analitika alkalmazása a félvezető-technológiában, avagy, Gyulai József munkásságának hatása a KFKI-ban és utódintézeteiben}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34727545}, author = {Battistig, Gábor}, journal-iso = {FIZIKAI SZEMLE}, journal = {FIZIKAI SZEMLE}, volume = {74}, unique-id = {34727545}, issn = {0015-3257}, year = {2024}, pages = {88-91}, orcid-numbers = {Battistig, Gábor/0000-0003-2445-857X} } @article{MTMT:34714394, title = {Atomic layer deposited Fe-sulphide layers with pyrrhotite structure controlled by the deposition temperature}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34714394}, author = {Baji, Zsófia and Pécz, Béla and Fogarassy, Zsolt and Szabó, Zoltán and Cora, Ildikó}, doi = {10.1016/j.tsf.2024.140267}, journal-iso = {THIN SOLID FILMS}, journal = {THIN SOLID FILMS}, volume = {794}, unique-id = {34714394}, issn = {0040-6090}, abstract = {Atomic layer deposition was used to grow epitaxial iron sulphide layers on α-Al2O3 substrates. According to the transmission electron microscopic measurements, these Fe-sulphide films had 1C pyrrhotite structure (Fe1-xS). In the case of pyrrhotite materials, both the magnetic and electric properties depend significantly on their iron content and on the ordering of iron vacancies. By tuning the parameters of the atomic layer deposition method, the structure of epitaxial pyrrhotite films could be controlled, thus the electronic properties of the Fe1-xS films could be influenced: At deposition temperatures below 350°C, the structure contained many faults, and the layers were n type semiconductors, while at higher temperatures, the resulting films were p-type with excellent crystalline structures with disordered vacancies. The focus of this paper is on two mineralisations of this type (Kçira and Thirra) in the Mirdita Zone, an ophiolite zone representing the Mesozoic Neotethys Ocean in the Dinarides. Our aim is to understand the ore-forming processes and the genesis of these deposits, which can be used in future exploration projects. According to the petrographical analysis, the host rock suffered propylitic alteration or subgreenschist facies metamorphism. Mineral chemistry of pyrite and epidote suggests a VMS related origin, more precisely, the deeper part of its stockwork feeder zone. The bulk rock geochemical analyses confirms that the mineralisations are classified as mafic-, Cyprus-type VMS deposits. Differences in the geochemical compositions and the corresponding mineralogical observations are attributed to the distinct original geotectonic positions: higher amount of compatible elements (Cr, Ni, V and Cu) occur in Kçira, which formed in a mid-oceanic ridge environment, while incompatible elements (Ag, As, Co and Zn) are more abundant in the Thirra deposit, which formed in a supra-subduction zone setting.}, year = {2024}, eissn = {2075-163X}, orcid-numbers = {Baloghné Kiss, Gabriella/0000-0002-7162-2961} } @article{MTMT:34196964, title = {Effect of process parameters on co-sputtered Al(1-x)ScxN layer's properties: Morphology, crystal structure, strain, band gap, and piezoelectricity}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34196964}, author = {Nguyen Quoc, Khánh and Horváth, Zsolt Endre and Zolnai, Zsolt and Petrik, Péter and Pósa, László and Volk, János}, doi = {10.1016/j.mssp.2023.107902}, journal-iso = {MAT SCI SEMICON PROC}, journal = {MATERIALS SCIENCE IN SEMICONDUCTOR PROCESSING}, volume = {169}, unique-id = {34196964}, issn = {1369-8001}, abstract = {The effect of pulse direct current (DC) reactive ion co-sputtering parameters on the morphology, crystal structure, residual stress, band gap, and piezoelectric properties of the Al(1-x)ScxN thin film deposited in large target-to-substrate distance (TSD) system has been studied using Scanning Probe Microscopy, X ray Diffractometry, Spectroscopic Ellipsometry, and profilometer, among others. The process pressure was revealed to be the key factor which essentially determines the quality of the film for such system. As low as 0.2 Pa working pressure is needed to achieve smooth nitride layer with good piezoelectric properties. High N2/(Ar + N2) gas ratio also was shown to result in better film properties. Residual stress in nitride film, and thereby the optical band gap can be tuned by variation of process pressure, gas ratio, and Sc fraction in the studied x range (0–0.5). The Al(1-x)ScxN film deposited at low pressure, medium N2 gas ratio with x ∼ 0.41 shows high piezoelectric coefficient, relatively low residual stress, and smooth surface. In this contribution, PLA foams with outstanding flexibility were created for the first time by a new approach of uniaxial stretching and immediate relaxation following supercritical CO2-assisted extrusion foaming. Instead of improving the resilience of the PLA raw material, structural elasticity of the foam was achieved via altering the deformation mechanism from cell wall collapse or rupture towards reversible and extensive flexural strain. In addition, PLA foams with excellent piezoelectric properties were also achieved via high-voltage corona poling, giving additional function to the lens-like anisotropic foam cells. This foaming technology creates the opportunity to produce PLA piezoelectrets in a way entirely different from the state-of-the-art methods. Correlation between the tensile as well as compression elongations and moduli, cell morphology and longitudinal piezoelectric coefficients (d33) of electretized foam samples were studied.
