This pilot study investigates the patient-reported outcomes of postoperative rehabilitation in competitive athletes, comparing supervised rehabilitation (SVR) and home-based rehabilitation (HBR). Methods: After ACLR, 60 (out of 74 screened) athletes were recruited and equally divided into HBR and SVR groups using non-probability convenience sampling, with each group comprising 15 males and 15 females. The rehabilitation outcomes in the respective groups were evaluated at 8 months using measures (Tegner Activity Scale [TAS], International Knee Documentation Committee subjective knee form [IKDC-SKF], ACL Return to Sport after Injury [ACL-RSI]) and objective parameters (isometric muscle strength, hamstring/quadricep asymmetry). RTS was evaluated at 9 months, with ACL re-injury rates recorded approximately 6 months post-RTS. Results: Both groups exhibited decreased TAS scores (HBR: 8 to 6, SVR: 8 to 7), with the SVR group demonstrating superior postoperative IKDC-SKF scores (81.82 vs. 68.43) and lower ACL-RSI scores (49.46 vs. 55.25). Isometric and isokinetic muscle strength, along with asymmetry values, was higher in the SVR group 8 months post-ACLR (p < 0.05). The SVR group showed a higher RTS rate to the same level (76.6% vs. 53.3%), while the re-injury rate was the same in both the rehabilitation groups (3.3%). Conclusions: Although both rehabilitation approaches yielded comparable outcomes, SVR may demonstrate some superior biomechanical improvements in athletes, resulting in a higher RTS rate. However, the psychological outcomes and re-injury rates did not significantly differ between the groups, emphasizing the need to address individual psychological needs during rehabilitation. A gyógytornaellátás során eddig is általánosan alkalmazott eljárás volt a személyes alkalmak közötti otthoni gyakorlásra ösztönzés a terápia sikeressége érdekében. Ám a foglalkozásokon megtanult és begyakorolt feladatok ismétlésszáma és pontossága kérdéses az otthoni környezetben, ami csökkentheti az eredményességet, és növelheti a sérülésveszélyt. Célkitűzés: Kutatásunkban olyan megoldást teszteltünk, amely megfizethető és széles körben elérhető eszközöket, okostelefont és laptopot használ képernyőmegosztási technológia alkalmazásával. Módszer: A 3 hétig tartó vizsgálatunkban négy csoport (vizsgálati: fiatal, n = 50, életkor 25,6 ± 3,1 év; idősebb felnőttek, n = 50, életkor 74,8 ± 9,1 év; kontroll: fiatal, n = 20, életkor 26,25 ± 3,6 év; idősebb felnőttek, n = 20, életkor 70,15 ± 5,2 év) vett részt. A résztvevők feladata guggolási és térdemelési gyakorlatok végrehajtása volt egy előre meghatározott végtagszöghelyzetig. A vizsgálati csoport tagjai a végtagmozgások és szöghelyzetek nyomon követésére egy – goniométeres alkalmazással a combjukra rögzített – okostelefont és egy aktivált képernyőmegosztási funkcióval rendelkező laptopot használtak, amely valós idejű önellenőrzést tett lehetővé. Eredmények: A célszögtől való eltérés szignifikánsan csökkent (a guggolás esetében a fiataloknál 7,7°-ról 1,7°-ra, az idősebbeknél 16,4°-ról 7,3°-ra; térdemelés esetén a fiataloknál 10,8°-ról 3,2°-ra, az idősebbeknél 14,8°-ról 6,4°-ra), vagyis a gyakorlatok végrehajtása szignifikánsan pontosabb lett a vizsgálati csoportokban. Következtetés: Eredményeink azt mutatják, hogy amikor a résztvevők numerikus visszajelzést kaptak a laptop képernyőjén keresztül, akkor a gyakorlat végrehajtásának pontossága jelentősen megnőtt. Twenty-five, elite, young, male soccer players (12.3 ± 0.4 years, 155.4 ± 7.6 cm, 42.6 ± 6.9 kg) completed a battery of field tests, including 5-, 10-, 20-m sprints, change of direction speed (CODS), standing long jump, and an agility test based on a human stimulus. Subjects also completed choice reaction (RT, S3) and reactive stress tolerance (DT, S1) tests on the Vienna Test System. There was a moderate significant relationship ( p < 0.05) found between mean reaction time and mean motor time during the choice reaction task and decision time in the agility test. Decision time also showed a large significant correlation ( p < 0.05) with total time in the agility test. No significant correlation was found between total time in the agility test and variables measured during RT and DT tests. No significant correlations were found between agility test results and results from straight line sprints, CODS, and standing long jump tests. The results of this study suggest that choice reaction time is related to decision-making speed during the agility task used in this study and can have an indirect effect on agility performance in elite young soccer players. Objective: In physical therapy, an online video analysis software that provides real-time graphic and numerical information about the patient’s movement executions without direct personal contact would mean a significant improvement in eHealth treatment. Methods: We have developed a software layer on top of OpenPose human body position estimation software that can extract the time series of angles of arbitrary body parts using the output coordinates from OpenPose processing the data recorded by two cameras simultaneously. To validate the procedure of determining the joint angles using the Openpose software we have used the Kinovea software. Results: The comparison of the determined maximal knee angle in our and the Kinovea software, which is widely used in biomechanical measurements, was not significantly different (2.03±1.06°, p<0.05) Conclusion: This indicates, that the developed software can calculate the appropriate joint angles with the accuracy that physiotherapy treatments require. As, to our knowledge no such software yet exists, with the help of this software development, therapists could control and correct the exercises in real-time, and also from a distance, and physical therapy effectiveness could be increased. In an initial effort in healthy males (n = 11, age: 26.3±4.6 y), we compared the physiological responses to low-intensity endurance exercise with and without a thigh KAATSU. Participants performed maximal graded exercise testing using a cycle ergometer with or without KAATSU. We examined responses to cycling exercise at ventilatory threshold (VT) in heart rate (HR), oxygen consumption (VO 2 ), dyspnea, ratings of perceived exertion (RPE), blood pressure (BP), and rectus femoris activation. Participants reached VT at a lower mechanical load, HR, VO 2 , dyspnea, and double product (HR×systolic BP) with KAATSU vs. no-KAATSU. At VT, RPE, and rectus femoris activity did not differ between the two conditions. These results suggest that KAATSU reduced exercise intensity to reach VT and the physiological responses to exercise at VT without changes in knee extensor muscle activation.
