The late Audrius Alkauskas made seminal contributions to developing rigorous first-principles methodologies for the computation of defects and electron-phonon interactions, especially in the context of understanding the fundamental mechanisms of carrier recombination in semiconductors. Alkauskas was also a pioneer in the field of quantum defects, helping to build a first-principles understanding of the prototype nitrogen-vacancy center in diamond, as well as identifying novel defects. Here, we describe the important contributions made by Alkauskas and his collaborators and outline fruitful research directions that Alkauskas would have been keen to pursue. Audrius Alkauskas’ scientific achievements and insights highlighted in this article will inspire and guide future developments and advances in the field. © 2024 Author(s).}, year = {2024}, eissn = {1089-7550}, orcid-numbers = {Gali, Ádám/0000-0002-3339-5470} } @article{MTMT:34804475, title = {Rare-Earth Ions in LiNbO3 Nanocrystals from the View of Spectroscopy and Force-Field Calculations}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34804475}, author = {Lengyel, Krisztián and Kocsor, Laura and Kis, Zsolt and Péter, László and Dravecz, Gabriella}, doi = {10.1002/pssa.202300932}, journal-iso = {PHYS STATUS SOLIDI A-APPL MAT SCI}, journal = {PHYSICA STATUS SOLIDI A-APPLICATIONS AND MATERIALS SCIENCE}, unique-id = {34804475}, issn = {1862-6300}, year = {2024}, eissn = {1862-6319}, orcid-numbers = {Kocsor, Laura/0000-0001-8388-4531; Péter, László/0000-0001-5604-0982} } @article{MTMT:34765057, title = {Utilizing High-Capacity Spinel-Structured High-Entropy Oxide (CrMnFeCoCu)3O4 as a Graphite Alternative in Lithium-Ion Batteries}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34765057}, author = {Oroszová, L. and Csík, D. and Baranová, G. and Bortel, Gábor and Džunda, R. and Temleitner, László and Hagarová, M. and Breitung, B. and Saksl, K.}, doi = {10.3390/cryst14030218}, journal-iso = {CRYSTALS}, journal = {CRYSTALS}, volume = {14}, unique-id = {34765057}, year = {2024}, eissn = {2073-4352}, orcid-numbers = {Temleitner, László/0000-0003-3411-9766} } @article{MTMT:34765034, title = {Rare-Earth Ion Loss of Er- or Yb-Doped LiNbO3 Crystals Due to Mechanical Destructive Effect of High-Energy Ball Milling}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34765034}, author = {Dravecz, Gabriella and Kocsor, Laura and Péter, László and Temleitner, László and Gál, Dávid and Lengyel, Krisztián}, doi = {10.3390/cryst14030223}, journal-iso = {CRYSTALS}, journal = {CRYSTALS}, volume = {14}, unique-id = {34765034}, year = {2024}, eissn = {2073-4352}, orcid-numbers = {Kocsor, Laura/0000-0001-8388-4531; Péter, László/0000-0001-5604-0982; Temleitner, László/0000-0003-3411-9766; Gál, Dávid/0000-0002-0661-8544} } @article{MTMT:34763629, title = {A Smoke Chamber Study on Some Low-Cost Sensors for Monitoring Size-Segregated Aerosol and Microclimatic Parameters}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34763629}, author = {Bencs, László and Nagy, Attila Tibor}, doi = {10.3390/atmos15030304}, journal-iso = {ATMOSPHERE-BASEL}, journal = {ATMOSPHERE}, volume = {15}, unique-id = {34763629}, year = {2024}, eissn = {2073-4433}, orcid-numbers = {Bencs, László/0000-0003-1775-5170; Nagy, Attila Tibor/0000-0003-4595-3625} } @{MTMT:34752086, title = {Optimizing Wireless Power Transfer - A Preliminary Study}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34752086}, author = {Gombkötő, Ákos and Szűcs, Judit and Guzsvinecz, Tibor}, booktitle = {10th Winter School for PhD Students in Informatics and Mathematics}, unique-id = {34752086}, year = {2024}, pages = {23-23}, orcid-numbers = {Gombkötő, Ákos/0000-0002-4054-9060; Szűcs, Judit/0000-0002-9828-3322; Guzsvinecz, Tibor/0000-0003-3273-313X} } @article{MTMT:34751383, title = {Design of Nickel-Containing Nanocomposites Based on Ordered Mesoporous Silica: Synthesis, Structure, and Methylene Blue Adsorption}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34751383}, author = {Kouznetsova, T. and Ivanets, A. and Prozorovich, V. and Shornikova, P. and Kapysh, L. and Tian, Q. and Péter, László and Trif, László and Almásy, László}, doi = {10.3390/gels10020133}, journal-iso = {GELS-BASEL}, journal = {GELS (BASEL)}, volume = {10}, unique-id = {34751383}, year = {2024}, eissn = {2310-2861}, orcid-numbers = {Péter, László/0000-0001-5604-0982; Trif, László/0000-0002-3960-1829} } @article{MTMT:34750306, title = {Loading atoms from a large magnetic trap to a small intra-cavity optical lattice}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34750306}, author = {Varga, Dezső and Gábor, Bence and Sárközi, Bálint and Kalluvayal, Adwaith Varooli and Nagy, Dávid and Dombi, András and Clark, Thomas and Williams, Francis and Domokos, Péter and Vukics, András}, doi = {10.1016/j.physleta.2024.129444}, journal-iso = {PHYS LETT A}, journal = {PHYSICS LETTERS A}, volume = {505}, unique-id = {34750306}, issn = {0375-9601}, abstract = {We show that an optimized loading of a cold ensemble of rubidium-87 atoms from a magnetic trap into an optical lattice sustained by a single, far-red-detuned mode of a high-Q optical cavity can be efficient despite the large volume mismatch of the traps. The magnetically trapped atoms are magnetically transported to the vicinity of the cavity mode and released from the magnetic trap in a controlled way meanwhile undergoing an evaporation period. Large number of atoms get trapped in the dipole potential of the cavity mode for several hundreds of milliseconds. We monitor the number of atoms in the mode volume by a second tone of the cavity close to the atomic resonance. While this probe tone can pump atoms to another ground state uncoupled to the probe, we demonstrate state-independent trapping by applying a repumper laser.}, year = {2024}, eissn = {1873-2429}, orcid-numbers = {Varga, Dezső/0000-0002-2450-1331; Gábor, Bence/0000-0002-0410-1787; Dombi, András/0000-0003-2158-0609; Vukics, András/0000-0001-8916-4033} } @article{MTMT:34749980, title = {Diamond surface functionalization via visible light-driven C-H activation for nanoscale quantum sensing}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34749980}, author = {Rodgers, L.V.H. and Nguyen, S.T. and Cox, J.H. and Zervas, K. and Yuan, Z. and Sangtawesin, S. and Stacey, A. and Jaye, C. and Weiland, C. and Pershin, Anton and Gali, Ádám and Thomsen, L. and Meynell, S.A. and Hughes, L.B. and Jayich, A.C.B. and Gui, X. and Cava, R.J. and Knowles, R.R. and de, Leon N.P.}, doi = {10.1073/pnas.2316032121}, journal-iso = {P NATL ACAD SCI USA}, journal = {PROCEEDINGS OF THE NATIONAL ACADEMY OF SCIENCES OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA}, volume = {121}, unique-id = {34749980}, issn = {0027-8424}, year = {2024}, eissn = {1091-6490}, orcid-numbers = {Gali, Ádám/0000-0002-3339-5470} }
