Recent experimental results show that, by introducing cyclic hydrocarbon molecules inside carbon nanotubes, they can be transformed into nanoribbons or inner tubes, depending on the experimental conditions. In this paper, we present our results obtained as a continuation of our previous molecular dynamics simulation work. In our previous work, the initial geometry consisted of independent carbon atoms. Now, as an initial condition, we have placed different molecules inside a carbon nanotube (18,0): C5H5 (fragment of ferrocene), C5, C5+H2; C6H6 (benzene), C6, C6+H2; C20H12 (perylene); and C24H12 (coronene). The simulations were performed using the REBO-II potential of the LAMMPS software package, supplemented with a Lennard-Jones potential between the nanotube wall atoms and the inner atoms. The simulation proved difficult due to the slow dynamics of the H abstraction. However, with a slight modification of the parameterization, it was possible to model the formation of carbon nanoribbons inside the carbon nanotube. Although semantic evolution is driven by a variety of distinct factors, including linguistic, societal, and technological ones, we find that there is one law that holds universally across five major Indo-European languages: that semantic evolution is subdiffusive. Using an automated pipeline of diachronic distributional semantic embedding that controls for underlying symmetries, we show that words follow stochastic trajectories in meaning space with an anomalous diffusion exponent α = 0.45 ± 0.05 across languages, in contrast with diffusing particles that follow α = 1. Randomization methods indicate that preserving temporal correlations in semantic change directions is necessary to recover strongly subdiffusive behavior; however, correlations in change sizes play an important role too. We furthermore show that strong subdiffusion is a robust phenomenon under a wide variety of choices in data analysis and interpretation, such as the choice of fitting an ensemble average of displacements or averaging best-fit exponents of individual word trajectories. The secondary aim was to evaluate if the novel technique for histological reconstruction accurately replicated the trabecular microarchitecture of bone. This was performed by conducting micromorphometric measurements on the reconstruction and comparing the results obtained with those of microCT reconstructions. A bone biopsy sample was harvested upon re-entry following sinus floor augmentation. Following microCT scanning and histological processing, a modified version of the U-Net architecture was trained to categorize tissues on the sections. Detector-free local feature matching with transformers was used to create the histological reconstruction. The micromorphometric parameters were calculated using Bruker’s CTAn software (version 1.18.8.0, Bruker, Kontich, Belgium) for both histological and microCT datasets. Correlation coefficients calculated between the micromorphometric parameters measured on the microCT and histological reconstruction suggest a strong linear relationship between the two with ⍴-values of 0.777, 0.717, 0.705, 0.666, and 0.687 for BV/TV, BS/TV, Tb.Pf Tb.Th, and Tb.Sp, respectively. Bland–Altman and mountain plots suggest good agreement between BV/TV measurements on the two reconstruction methods. This novel method for three-dimensional histological reconstruction provides researchers with a tool that enables the assessment of accurate trabecular microarchitecture and histological information simultaneously.
