	abstract = {Global migration creates both challenges and opportunities for employees and employers. An important issue in international business and human resource management is the integration of employees into a culturally diferent working industrial environment because focusing on cultural diferences, integration, and mitigating culture shock can provide a competitive advantage. Our research examined the global migration involving the Hofstede cultural dimensions in the sports industry, especially in the football transfer market. The paper aims to fnd a relationship between cultural distance as an expression of cultural diferences and international transfers of professional footballers as high-skilled and talented employees.
		Our study is based on a substantial quantitative examination of processing 34,430 international transfers. Our research question is: What kind of relationship can be detected between cultural distance and the migration of professional footballers?
		The results of a linear regression model show a signifcant negative correlation between the number of transfers and cultural distance. However, we believe that the country’s economic performance and professional sports standards or quality are essential in addition to the cultural distance. Therefore, as a next step, the analysis involved both factors in getting a more sophisticated result. The results of the multiple regression model confrm the attitude of professional athletes; besides cultural distance, the impact of other factors (economic and/or professional aspects) is also important. Therefore, we recommend that companies pay close attention to their particularly valuable human resources.},

	abstract = {The opinions regarding the impact of the domestic league's competitive balance (CB) on continental club competition sporting success are divided. Through the data of the last 18 seasons (2004/05–2021/22) and 576 games, we have examined whether the teams from a more balanced domestic league can achieve more unexpected results in the Champions League group stage. The current study aims to contribute to previously published literature by applying the market value-based surprise index. The results of panel logistic regression models suggest that a lower domestic league's CB in a given season can support teams to overperform in the international field in the same season.},

	abstract = {A technológia a sport területén napjainkra a teljesítmény, illetve a versenyképesség növelésének egyik legfontosabb tényezőjévé vált, hiszen a technológiai innovációk jelentős mértékben hozzájárulnak a sportágak fejlődéséhez és a sportolók teljesítményének javításához. Ahhoz, hogy a sportolók folyamatosan túlszárnyalhassák az emberi teljesítmény határait, különösen innovatív eszközökre és módszerekre van szükség. Kutatásunk célja a technológiai innováció sportteljesítményre gyakorolt hatásának mérése, aminek érdekében egy, az úszásban az egyik legjelentősebb áttörést okozó innováció, a cápadressz világcsúcsokra gyakorolt hatását vizsgáltuk. Empirikus kutatásunk során 14 versenyszám esetében elsőként Catmull–Rom-spline-interpolációt alkalmaztunk, majd a „kvázi” ekvidisztáns idősorokon strukturálistörés-teszteket végeztünk. Eredményeink egyértelműen kimutatták, hogy a cápadressz alkalmazása 7 versenyszámban ténylegesen olyan világcsúcsidőket hozott, amelyek áttörést jelentettek, vagyis az innováció bevezetése szignifikánsan javította a sportolók egyéni teljesítményét},

	abstract = {This study examines the impact of the European Union’s sanctions against Russia and the news about them on gas prices. Using the event study methodology, we primarily seek to answer whether the different types of news related to sanctions (any mention of the sanctions package, announcements of its content or adoption) impacted gas prices significantly and in differing ways. The 24 selected events were analysed using three different model variants (market model, GARCH, EGARCH) and four different (3-, 5-, 10-, and 15-day) window lengths. Our results confirmed our hypothesis that the mere mention of sanctions has an upward effect on gas prices, similar to the other two types of news.},
