Globally, ponds are sharply declining in number because their small size makes them highly vulnerable to land use changes. While it is generally agreed that connectivity in habitat networks is crucial for sustaining biodiversity, the effect of connectivity on biodiversity patterns over small‐scaled habitat networks has so far received less attention given the general assumption that metacommunities lack spatial structuring on small scales. In this study, we tested whether this holds for multiple passively and actively dispersing organism groups in a well‐delineated pond metacommunity of 54 bomb crater ponds situated within 1 km. We investigated the influence of space and environment on species richness and metacommunity structure in these ponds, which share similar age, size, and shape and are subject to strong environmental gradients, making it an ideal study system. We specifically examined the impact of network centrality on taxonomic richness and eigenvector‐based spatial arrangement on metacommunity structure across different organism groups, including prokaryotes, microeukaryotes, zooplankton, macroinvertebrates, and amphibians. We found that while environmental filtering is the primary driver of community dynamics, there is also a significant spatial signal, particularly for passively dispersing groups, demonstrating the role of the central‐peripheral connectivity gradient. Our earlier study demonstrated that Pseudomonas sivasensis 2RO45 significantly stimulated canola ( Brassica napus L. var. napus ) growth. The aim of the present study was to investigate the structural and functional dynamics in the canola rhizosphere microbiome after inoculation with PGPR P. sivasensis 2RO45. The results based on alpha diversity metrics showed that P. sivasensis 2RO45 did not significantly alter the diversity of the native soil microbiota. However, the introduced strain modified the taxonomic structure of microbial communities, increasing the abundance of plant beneficial microorganisms, e.g., bacteria affiliated with families Comamonadaceae , Vicinamibacteraceae , genus Streptomyces , and fungi assigned to Nectriaceae, Didymellaceae, Exophiala, Cyphellophora vermispora , and Mortierella minutissima . The analysis of community level physiological profiling (CLPP) revealed that microbial communities in the P. sivasensis 2RO45 treated canola rhizospheres were more metabolically active than those in the non-treated canola rhizosphere. Four carbon sources (phenols, polymers, carboxylic acids, and amino acids) were better metabolized by the microbial communities from the rhizosphere of plants inoculated with the P. sivasensis 2RO45 than non-inoculated canola rhizospheres. Based on the community-level physiological profiles, the functional diversity of the rhizosphere microbiome was altered by the P. sivasensis 2RO45 inoculation. Substrate utilization Shannon diversity (H) index and evenness (E) index were significantly increased in the treated canola plants. Munkánk során két termálfürdő vizsgálatát végeztük el (a kútvizektől a különböző üzemeltetésű medencékig) tenyésztéses módszerekkel, valamint molekuláris módszereket alkalmazva, mint a taxon-specifikus polimeráz láncreakció (PCR), multiplex PCR és az újgenerációs szekvenálás. A termálfürdőkből főként olyan baktériumokat mutattunk ki, amelyek a vizek természetes közösségalkotói, azonban néhány opportunista patogén taxon pl. Pseudomonas aeruginosa, P. stutzeri, Acinetobacter johnsoni, Acinetobacter baumanni, Moraxella osloensis, Microbacterium paraoxydans, Legionella spp., Stenotrophomonas maltophilia és Staphylococcus aureus is megjelent az általunk alkalmazott módszerekkel. A töltő-ürítő üzemeltetésű medencékre magasabb mikroszkópos sejtszám, összes heterotróf csíraszám, micrococcus szám, és magasabb P. aeruginosa és S. aureus szám volt jellemző, mint a vízforgatásos medencékre. Azok a baktériumok, amelyek egyértelműen humán eredettel hozhatók összefüggésbe (pl. bőr eredettel) a medencékben kisebb, mint 1% relatív abundancia értékkel rendelkeztek, előfordulásuk sporadikus (szórványos) volt. Az első, majd az azokat követő 4 hónapon át tartó mintavételek higiénés eredményei azt mutatták, hogy a vízforgatással rendelkező medencék jobb vízminőséggel rendelkeznek, mint a töltő-ürítő üzemeltetésű medencék.}, year = {2023}, eissn = {2939-8495}, pages = {4-15}, orcid-numbers = {Felföldi, Tamás/0000-0003-2009-2478; M Tóth, Erika/0000-0001-9048-5758} } @article{MTMT:34257210, title = {Technogenic soil salinisation, vegetation, and management shape microbial abundance, diversity, and activity}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34257210}, author = {Kalwasińska, A. and Hulisz, P. and Szabó, Attila and Binod, Kumar S. and Michalski, A. and Solarczyk, A. and Wojciechowska, A. and Piernik, A.}, doi = {10.1016/j.scitotenv.2023.167380}, journal-iso = {SCI TOTAL ENVIRON}, journal = {SCIENCE OF THE TOTAL ENVIRONMENT}, volume = {905}, unique-id = {34257210}, issn = {0048-9697}, year = {2023}, eissn = {1879-1026} }
