AB  - The paper presents an overview of the business drivers for the 
application of strategic technologies in 2011 which result in 
the rise of cloud computing among others. The effect of recent 
advances in social communications and collaboration technologies 
enabled by cloud computing is discussed. The zero code 
development of a social application is illustrated by a scenario 
providing an initiating experience of the potential of a very 
simple social software in the cloud. The satisfaction of further 
requirements leads to the consumption of web services with still 
fully zero code. 
This paper addresses those business and academic audiences who 
are not developers, but who are highly responsive to the new 
opportunities offered by the rapidly changing software and 
hardware technology.
