The conventional harmonic mitigation method (Passive Filter) sustains a lot of tunning, resonance, and size drawbacks. Shunt Active Power Filter (SAPF) can use as a feasible alternative device to mitigate the current harmonic distortion. This paper investigates the mitigation performance of three-phase three-wire SAPF on the proposed distribution network model during nonlinear load changes conditions (dynamic load changes) when five scenarios representing different load variations have been applied to the network. Total Harmonic Distortion (THD), current, and power factor have been examined before and after these load changes and without and with SAPF in each network bus. The study considers the dynamic load induction machine that has been connected to the one feeder through a line-side converter when SAPF was able to reduce the THD% of the grid to 5.32, 5.1, and 5.52 for 20Nm, 40Nm, and 60 Nm dynamic applied torque, respectively. The SAPF, distribution network, loads, and line side converter models are simulated with varying scenarios in MATLAB Simulink. © 2024 American Institute of Physics Inc.. All rights reserved. This research was funded by the project Establishment of Electromobility Development Center at Robert Bosch Kft. Phase 1. AB - With the recent advancements of the fourth industrial revolution, many sensors are implemented into the products that collect the data and monitor their performance. The measurement data can be stored with the numerical models as a digital twin, and these can serve as a virtual replica of a physical object or process. These digital twins can improve the design and optimization process. The paper uses an open-source tool, the Digital-Twin-Distiller, which can encapsulate the realized finite element analysis of a model into a web application, which can be integrated easily into an optimization chain or any other business process. The paper proposes a numerical model and cogging torque analysis of an interior permanent magnet synchronous machine. The paper examines the effect of two parameters of the magnet groove shape on the cogging torque of the Prius 2004 motor model. It was found that the cogging torque of the motor is highly dependent on the shape of the flux barrier, even with minor changes. On the other hand, the wedge between the two magnets does not affect cogging torque much. The research reported in this paper and carried out at the BME has been supported by the NRDI Fund based on the charter of bolster issued by the NRDI Office under the auspices of the Ministry for Innovation and Technology. AB - The most commonly used electric motor in electric vehicles is the permanent magnet synchronous motor. The primary production and refinement of rare earth materials used in these motors are immensely damaging to the environment. A new wave of technology in the aspect of electric motors is emerging and that is the non-rare earth element magnet assisted synchronous reluctance motor. During the development process it is beneficial to keep the expenditures at the minimum. To reach that goal a comprehensive simulation of the designed motor and its control circuit could be the answer. It is reasonable to use software based on finite element calculations such as FEMM and mathematical simulations as Matlab Simulink. By implementing the equations and methods described in this paper the electric powertrain can be created generally. The specification is highly dependent on the input parameters that are extracted from finite element 2D calculations. In this case, the model approximates the expected behaviour of the investigated construction. A complete driving cycle can be examined, operating points can be determined, and the efficiency map can be created to help the research. © 2021, European Association for the Development of Renewable Energy, Environment and Power Quality (EA4EPQ).
