As a test species, we utilised Allium ursinum L., a dominant clonal species in early spring forest floors. We compared the species’ germination capacity in native (Hungarian) and non-native (North American) soils, its seedling growth, and competing performances with two co-occurring dominant species, Melica uniflora Retz. and Carex pilosa Scop., in ten soil types and three soil compositions, respectively. Additionally, the competitive interactions of A. ursinum with Convallaria majalis L., a species already introduced in North America, were assessed under three moisture conditions. The results revealed that A. ursinum exhibited enhanced germination in non-native soils, while its shoot growth was most vigorous in control soil. When grown in soils with different co-dominant species, A. ursinum seedlings exhibited varying growth rates, significantly influenced by solar radiation intensity. A. ursinum shoots displayed superior growth in soil collected from C. pilosa stands compared to soil originating from its own stands. Notably, A. ursinum effectively competed against C. majalis in moderate soil moisture conditions. Furthermore, increasing sand content improved the competitive ability of A. ursinum against C. pilosa and M. uniflora. Based on our findings, A. ursinum possesses an invasion potential for particular North American habitats. However, the extent of its potential is dependent upon soil and climatic conditions. Under medium moisture regime, A. ursinum might outcompete the already established C. majalis from its habitats. Additionally, it can potentially displace native species with comparable ecological characteristics, such as C. pilosa and M. uniflora, especially in loose soils. Similar cross-range seed germination, growth, and paired competition experiments with potential competitor species are highly recommended as these can not only elucidate its native range expansion but also various growth scenarios for its agricultural cultivation.}, keywords = {COMPETITION; INVASION; Biotic interactions; relative interaction index; Solar radiations; germination and growth profiles; co-existing species}, year = {2023}, eissn = {2077-0472}, orcid-numbers = {Kaushik, Krishan/0000-0002-9943-4719; Somfalvi-Tóth, Katalin/0000-0001-7404-6704; Riyazuddin, Riyazuddin/0000-0003-2580-2811; Morschhauser, Tamás/0000-0001-6938-9518} } @article{MTMT:32889973, title = {Harvesting and phytosanitary parameters with particular regard to mycotoxin content of maize as a function of different seasonal, fertilisation and hybrid effect}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/32889973}, author = {Keszthelyi, Sándor and Kadlicskó, Sándor and Pásztor, György and Takács, András Péter and Szolcsányi, Éva and Pál-Fám, Ferenc István and Lukács, Helga and Pónya, Zsolt and Hoffmann, Richárd and Rudolf, Kinga and Sipos, Tamás and Piszkerné Fülöp, Éva and Treitz, Mónika and Mesterházy, Ákos and Somfalvi-Tóth, Katalin and Jócsák, Ildikó and Kazinczi, Gabriella}, doi = {10.17221/80/2022-PSE}, journal-iso = {PLANT SOIL ENVIRON}, journal = {PLANT SOIL AND ENVIRONMENT}, volume = {68}, unique-id = {32889973}, issn = {1214-1178}, year = {2022}, eissn = {1805-9368}, pages = {262-271}, orcid-numbers = {Keszthelyi, Sándor/0000-0001-7966-1001; Pál-Fám, Ferenc István/0000-0002-1545-7885; Hoffmann, Richárd/0000-0002-3041-8307; Sipos, Tamás/0000-0003-2569-2720; Somfalvi-Tóth, Katalin/0000-0001-7404-6704; Jócsák, Ildikó/0000-0002-1958-6377; Kazinczi, Gabriella/0000-0002-8081-7824} } @article{MTMT:32469524, title = {Effects of a Dominant Species on the Functional Diversity of Coexisting Species in Temperate Deciduous Understorey}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/32469524}, author = {Kaushik, Krishan and Bricca, Alessandro and Mugnai, Michele and Viciani, Daniele and Rudolf, Kinga and Somfalvi-Tóth, Katalin and Morschhauser, Tamás}, doi = {10.3390/plants10112252}, journal-iso = {PLANTS-BASEL}, journal = {PLANTS-BASEL}, volume = {10}, unique-id = {32469524}, keywords = {Allium ursinum; Biotic interactions; functional traits; Assembly rules; niche differentiation; clonal traits}, year = {2021}, eissn = {2223-7747}, orcid-numbers = {Kaushik, Krishan/0000-0002-9943-4719; Bricca, Alessandro/0000-0003-0202-6776; Mugnai, Michele/0000-0003-4315-2920; Viciani, Daniele/0000-0003-3422-5999; Somfalvi-Tóth, Katalin/0000-0001-7404-6704} } @article{MTMT:31930345, title = {Soil Humus, Iron, Sulphate and Magnesium Content Affect Nectar Traits of Wild Garlic (Allium ursinum L.)}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/31930345}, author = {Bodó, Alexandra and Farkas, Ágnes and Nagy, Dávid and Rudolf, Kinga and Hoffmann, Richárd and Kocsis, Marianna and Morschhauser, Tamás}, doi = {10.3390/plants10030597}, journal-iso = {PLANTS-BASEL}, journal = {PLANTS-BASEL}, volume = {10}, unique-id = {31930345}, keywords = {medicinal plant; Allium ursinum; Soil parameters; nectar sugar concentration; nectar volume}, year = {2021}, eissn = {2223-7747}, orcid-numbers = {Farkas, Ágnes/0000-0002-8590-3203; Nagy, Dávid/0000-0001-7742-4459; Hoffmann, Richárd/0000-0002-3041-8307} } @article{MTMT:31847201, title = {Egy veszélyes kórokozó, a Plasmopara halstedii múltja és jelene}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/31847201}, author = {Rudolf, Kinga}, journal-iso = {AGROFÓRUM EXTRA}, journal = {AGROFÓRUM EXTRA}, volume = {2021}, unique-id = {31847201}, issn = {1788-7380}, year = {2021}, pages = {64-65} } @article{MTMT:31293863, title = {Cerebrosides and Steroids from the Edible Mushroom Meripilus giganteus with Antioxidant Potential}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/31293863}, author = {Sárközy, András and Béni, Zoltán and Dékány, Miklós and Zomborszki, Zoltán Péter and Rudolf, Kinga and Papp, Viktor and Hohmann, Judit and Ványolós, Attila}, doi = {10.3390/molecules25061395}, journal-iso = {MOLECULES}, journal = {MOLECULES}, volume = {25}, unique-id = {31293863}, issn = {1420-3049}, keywords = {ANTIOXIDANT; STEROIDS; ORAC assay; Meripilus giganteus; Meripilaceae; Cerebroside}, year = {2020}, eissn = {1420-3049}, orcid-numbers = {Béni, Zoltán/0000-0002-1275-4155; Zomborszki, Zoltán Péter/0000-0002-7412-9793; Hohmann, Judit/0000-0002-2887-6392; Ványolós, Attila/0000-0002-4710-0004} } @book{MTMT:32512255, title = {Insight from the interaction of a monodominant with species pool.
