Business transaction relations (firms buying or selling products or services to each other) are driven by economic motives, but because trust is essential to business relationships, the social connections of owners or the geographical proximity of firms can also influence their development. However, studying the formation of interfirm business transaction ties on a large scale is rare, because of the significant data demand. The business transaction and the ownership networks of Hungarian firms are constructed from two administrative datasets for 2016 and 2017. We show that direct or indirect connections in this two-layered network, including open triads in the business network, contribute to both the creation and persistence of business transaction ties. For our estimations, we utilize log-linear models and emphasize their efficiency in predicting links in such large networks. We contribute to the literature by presenting different patterns of business connections in a nationwide multilayer interfirm network.}, year = {2024}, eissn = {2050-1250}, pages = {1-20} } @{MTMT:34475271, title = {Digitalizáció a magyarországi termelő vállalatokban – a kontingenciák és a hálózati jellemzők hatása}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34475271}, author = {Lőrincz, László and Losonci, Dávid and Városiné Demeter, Krisztina and Gelei, Andrea and Juhász, Sándor}, booktitle = {Vállalkozáskutatói és elemzői hálózat}, unique-id = {34475271}, year = {2023}, pages = {67-69}, orcid-numbers = {Losonci, Dávid/0000-0003-0073-7849; Városiné Demeter, Krisztina/0000-0002-5967-8540; Gelei, Andrea/0000-0001-8861-8275} } @misc{MTMT:34427458, title = {Digitalization of manufacturing firms – an ego-network perspective}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34427458}, author = {Losonci, Dávid and Lőrincz, László and Városiné Demeter, Krisztina and Juhász, Sándor and Gelei, Andrea}, unique-id = {34427458}, year = {2023}, orcid-numbers = {Losonci, Dávid/0000-0003-0073-7849; Városiné Demeter, Krisztina/0000-0002-5967-8540; Gelei, Andrea/0000-0001-8861-8275} } @article{MTMT:34412825, title = {Egyenlőtlenségek a magyarországi fiatal kutatók között: tanulságok a Fiatal Kutatók Akadémiájának 2021-es felméréséből}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34412825}, author = {Németh, Brigitta and Munkácsy, B and Vida, Zsófia Viktória and Fröhlich, Georgina and Hatvani, István Gábor and Tóth, György and Solymosi, Katalin and Máté, Ágnes and Lőrincz, László and Lengyel, Balázs}, doi = {10.1556/2065.184.2023.12.10}, journal-iso = {MAGYAR TUDOMÁNY}, journal = {MAGYAR TUDOMÁNY}, volume = {184}, unique-id = {34412825}, issn = {0025-0325}, year = {2023}, eissn = {1588-1245}, pages = {1529-1543}, orcid-numbers = {Németh, Brigitta/0009-0000-3933-3193; Fröhlich, Georgina/0000-0001-6428-6536; Hatvani, István Gábor/0000-0002-9262-7315; Solymosi, Katalin/0000-0001-5246-2547} } @article{MTMT:34222618, title = {Digital & Cognitive Corporate Reality}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34222618}, author = {Kő, Andrea and Borbásné Szabó, Ildikó and Csapó, Ádám Balázs and Kovács, Tibor and Lőrincz, László and Baranyi, Péter Zoltán}, doi = {10.36244/ICJ.2023.6.1}, journal-iso = {INFOCOMM J}, journal = {INFOCOMMUNICATIONS JOURNAL}, volume = {2023}, unique-id = {34222618}, issn = {2061-2079}, abstract = {As part of the most recent developments in human co-evolution with information and communication technologies, the increasing complexity of our digital realities, as well as the expanding capabilities of omni-present artificial intelligence, are having profound implications. This transformative shift leads to a new era in many fields, including corporate management and business. Newly co-evolved cognitive capabilities, both natural and artificial, are emerging, necessitating a paradigm shift in our understanding and approaches to corporate management and business science. This paper introduces the concept of Digital and Cognitive Corporate Reality (DCR) to establish a new broader view for higher-level conceptual discussion, adopting a holistic perspective that encompasses related scientific fields. Following this definition, the paper briefly explores how different scientific disciplines can be expected to contribute to the development of DCR. Use case examples are also provided to demonstrate the benefits of the holistic perspective adopted in DCR.}, keywords = {cognitive infocommunications; corporate management; business science; digital and cognitive corporate reality; internet of digital & cognitive reality}, year = {2023}, eissn = {2061-2125}, pages = {2-10}, orcid-numbers = {Baranyi, Péter Zoltán/0000-0002-8265-5849} } @article{MTMT:34129889, title = {Amenity complexity and urban locations of socio-economic mixing}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34129889}, author = {Juhász, Sándor and Pintér, Gergő and Kovács, Ádám J. and Borza, Endre Márk and Mónus, Gergely and Lőrincz, László and Lengyel, Balázs}, doi = {10.1140/epjds/s13688-023-00413-6}, journal-iso = {EPJ DATA SCI}, journal = {EPJ DATA SCIENCE}, volume = {12}, unique-id = {34129889}, issn = {2193-1127}, abstract = {Cities host diverse people and their mixing is the engine of prosperity. In turn, segregation and inequalities are common features of most cities and locations that enable the meeting of people with different socio-economic status are key for urban inclusion. In this study, we adopt the concept of economic complexity to quantify the sophistication of amenity supply at urban locations. We propose that neighborhood complexity and amenity complexity are connected to the ability of locations to attract diverse visitors from various socio-economic backgrounds across the city. We construct the measures of amenity complexity based on the local portfolio of diverse and non-ubiquitous amenities in Budapest, Hungary. Socio-economic mixing at visited third places is investigated by tracing the daily mobility of individuals and by characterizing their status by the real-estate price of their home locations. Results suggest that measures of ubiquity and diversity of amenities do not, but neighborhood complexity and amenity complexity are correlated with the urban centrality of locations. Urban centrality is a strong predictor of socio-economic mixing, but both neighborhood complexity and amenity complexity add further explanatory power to our models. Our work combines urban mobility data with economic complexity thinking to show that the diversity of non-ubiquitous amenities, central locations, and the potentials for socio-economic mixing are interrelated.}, year = {2023}, eissn = {2193-1127}, orcid-numbers = {Pintér, Gergő/0000-0003-4731-3816; Kovács, Ádám J./0000-0001-6503-3047; Borza, Endre Márk/0000-0002-8804-4520} } @misc{MTMT:33870804, title = {Amenity complexity and urban locations of socio-economic mixing}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/33870804}, author = {Sándor, Juhász and Gergő, Pintér and Ádám, Kovács and Endre, Borza and Mónus, Gergely and Lőrincz, László and Lengyel, Balázs}, unique-id = {33870804}, year = {2023} } @misc{MTMT:33731630, title = {Hogyan alakítják a vállalatok termékportfóliójukat válság idején?}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/33731630}, author = {Kiss, Károly Miklós and Lőrincz, László and Lengyel, Balázs and Csáfordi, Zsolt}, unique-id = {33731630}, year = {2023} } @article{MTMT:33577307, title = {Related adjustment of firm production after demand shocks}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/33577307}, author = {Kiss, Károly Miklós and Lőrincz, László and Csáfordi, Zsolt and Lengyel, Balázs}, doi = {10.1371/journal.pone.0280461}, journal-iso = {PLOS ONE}, journal = {PLOS ONE}, volume = {18}, unique-id = {33577307}, issn = {1932-6203}, abstract = {Multiproduct firms often diversify into technologically related activities to exploit efficiencies of joint production; however, unrelated products in the company’s portfolio provide access to distinct markets and can help to avoid industry-specific shocks. Yet, the underlying mechanisms of related and unrelated diversification are still poorly understood. Here we investigate diversification decisions of firms in periods when corporations’ markets are hit by a demand shocks. In these times, cost efficiency considerations might drive firms to reduce costs by narrowing product portfolios and focusing on combinations of technologically related products, in which economies of scope and mutual capabilities can be exploited. To test this hypothesis, we consider two measures of demand shocks, decreasing sales volumes on the product market and increasing import competition; and analyze their association with changes of product portfolios of Hungarian firms in the 2003-2012 period. We find that production has become more coherent in terms of technological relatedness after firms were exposed to demand shocks. Evidence suggests related adjustment of firm production after demand shocks such that products unrelated to firms’ core product are dropped from the portfolio but related products are added.}, year = {2023}, eissn = {1932-6203} } @article{MTMT:33559509, title = {Digitalizáció és üzleti teljesítmény – hazai feldolgozóipari tapasztalatok}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/33559509}, author = {Losonci, Dávid and Lőrincz, László and Granát, Marcell and Városiné Demeter, Krisztina}, doi = {10.18414/KSZ.2023.1.82}, journal-iso = {KÖZGAZDASÁGI SZEMLE}, journal = {KÖZGAZDASÁGI SZEMLE}, volume = {70}, unique-id = {33559509}, issn = {0023-4346}, abstract = {A digitalizáció – és a feldolgozóiparban annak csúcsát képviselő ipar 4.0 – ma már áthatja a világ minden gazdaságát. A gazdasági és tudományos világ egyaránt arra számít – és az első eredmények alá is támasztják ezt a várakozást –, hogy a digitalizáció lesz az üzleti teljesítmény javításának legfőbb forrása. Írásunk célja ennek az alaptételnek a vizsgálata két adatbázis – a digitalizációt vizsgáló Eurostat-felmérés magyar feldolgozóipari adatai és a hazai cégek mérleg- és eredménykimutatásait tartalmazó adatbázis – összekapcsolásával. Megközelítésünk egyediségét a minta kiterjedtsége (a teljes populáció körülbelül egyharmada), a beszámolókon alapuló adatok, valamint a nagyszámú digitalizációs eszköz és teljesítménymutató szisztematikus elemzése adja. Eredményeink arra utalnak, hogy a digitalizáció kiterjedtsége a gyakorlatban egyáltalán nem olyan széles körű, ahogyan az a szakirodalomban megjelenik. Pozitív kapcsolatai a teljesítménnyel – legalábbis egyelőre – nem igazán láthatók. Mindazonáltal az is elmondható, hogy létezik egy olyan vállalati kör, amely esetében valóban érzékelhető az előrelépés, de a teljesítményre gyakorolt hatás még ott sem egyértelmű.* Journal of Economic Literature (JEL) kód: L21, M10, M15, O33}, year = {2023}, pages = {82-102}, orcid-numbers = {Losonci, Dávid/0000-0003-0073-7849; Városiné Demeter, Krisztina/0000-0002-5967-8540} }
