	abstract = {Recently, the increasing energy consumption for economic growth has resulted in higher carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. In this regard, the reduction of such emissions has become one of the main targets of economic planning for both developed and developing countries. Thus, this study determines whether economic growth and increased energy consumption can have a significant impact on CO2 emissions and whether this relationship is mutual, bidirectional, or unidirectional. For this purpose, we employ a panel autoregressive (VAR) model and focus on a group of developing countries in Southeast Asia in which their economic and population growth are 
		expected to increase CO2 emissions in the future. Additionally, we examine their difficulties in meeting the CO2 emission targets and consider modern renewable energy sources (RES) in our quantitative research. Based on the results, there have been various rebound effects and rising expenses for modern RES in these countries, which have hampered their long-term goal of reducing CO2 emissions. The implication of the findings is that it is important to tailor subsidy schemes and energy policies to the specific needs of developing countries and their respective populations.},

	abstract = {A tanulmány azt elemzi, hogy az Európai Unió mennyire volt képes alkalmazkodni az elmúlt néhány évben drámai gyorsasággal átalakuló geoökonómiai, geopolitikai viszonyokhoz. A változások meghatározó eleme, hogy az Egyesült Államok és Kína átalakuló viszonya részlegesen a világgazdaság fragmentálódásához vezet. Bemutatjuk azokat az uniós ipar-, energia- és versenypolitikai intézkedéseket, amelyek egyszerre célozzák meg a zöld- és a digitális átállást, a versenyképességet és az EU stratégiai autonómiáját. Kitérünk az Egyesült Államok legújabb iparpolitikai programjára, amely a 2022-es inflációcsökkentési törvényben öltött testet. Fő következtetésünk, hogy az EU sokrétűen, számos kezdeményezéssel reagált az új helyzetre, ugyanakkor az uniós és tagállami kompetenciák megoszlása a szakpolitikák között a szabad versennyel, a szabályalapú nemzetközi renddel volt összhangban. Ennek a rendnek a megingása olyan kihívásokat hordoz, amelyek kezeléséhez az uniós eszköztár jóval korlátozottabb, mint az államszervezettel rendelkező globális versenytársaké.*

	abstract = {The Central and Eastern European countries have made considerable economic progress since the capitalist transformation. This paper investigates whether there is a co-movement between two factors of well-being, improvement of economic and health status between 1995 and 2018 compared to the six founding European Union (EU) member states. Applying the Pedroni- and Fisher-type cointegration test and a panel vector error correction model, our estimations suggest that there is a mutual causal relationship between economic convergence measured in GDP per capita and health status convergence measured by life expectancy. The long-term bi-directional effects are also proved by impulse response functions. Using the same econometric methods, the examination of the relationship between government health expenditure and life expectancy indicates that governmental health expenditure promotes the health status convergence. This study concludes that the FDI-based, low-wage growth model of the Central and Eastern European countries has not impeded the convergence in both factors of well-being to the founding EU member states. The results demonstrate that the improvement of the healthcare system may be a channel for the acceleration of convergence.},
