	abstract = {Though the geography of energy has been part of regional geography for more than half a
		century now, it has also long been considered as a subject area within economic geography, and
		is thus deeply rooted in human geography. Being part of regional sciences, however, means it is
		an integrating subject and its own values and achievements should not be neglected. Due to the
		growing importance of energy resources and their environmental impact within many scientific
		fields, some geographers have begun to identify geography of energy as an individual subject
		specialisation based on its own merits. This simply means that energy geography forms a strong
		bond between the two major branches of geography: the physical and the human. From this perspective, geography of energy is a bridge connecting the fields of geographical disciplines, and
		with such a high importance, it needs to be defined, and its roots and historical importance must
		be brought forward. The main aim of this paper, therefore, is to consolidate a large amount of
		information on the historical development of geography of energy, mostly at the international,
		but also at the Hungarian, level.},

	abstract = {Continuously growing population, global environmental crises, highly consolidated consumerism, natural resource exploitation, increasing energy demand and consumption, unchanged dependence from imported fossil fuels. All  of these apply if things are viewed from a global perspective. And the human's impact have to be viewed from a global perspective! The actions that are taken to fight these problems, however, need to be brought down to a local level. But how small does that level have to be to efficiently target energy independence and the attempts to achieve successful decentralisation? 
		
		This presentation employs the principles of geography of energy and looks particularly into a new concept created by the author himself called "energy localisation." It will introduce the audience to newly constructed models (including the Need, the Cooperation and the Inverted Pyramid models) and a new measuring method (Energy Localisation Index) which may help to create or work towards energy independent, self-sustainable, environmentally and ecologically harmonious, low-impact local communities. The presented approach is focusing mostly on households, micro localities, off-grid and micro-grid systems. Beside the conceptualisation and the theoretical background of an energy locality, a case study from Wales will also be presented.

	abstract = {Recycling, waste control, global warming, climate change, sustainability; just to mention a few of the intensively growing number of “words” that people are bombarded with by the media daily. These phrases are, however, mostly on a loop of trend, they and their seriousness are not properly explained, which, in many cases, just spiral them down to meaninglessness and no further action is taken. It is now plastic that rules the headlines on many platforms, but surely, this is just the tip of the iceberg of all the environmental problems that the planet is facing. The author of this paper is interested in understanding the key factors that act between the society and the environment; therefore, it is commodities–that people consume daily without possibly thinking much of their origin and the effects (and side effects) that they directly or indirectly make on many environmental spheres–which are in the focus. It is coffee which is chosen to take the leading role and can navigate the reader towards having a better understanding of sustainability and the issues around them, through a very known example. The idea to demonstrate this was to carry out a survey in one of England’s prestigious towns, in the town centre area of Shrewsbury, to identify the number of premises that sell coffee drinks. The results shown in this paper represent only a rural town and urgently forms the question for sustainability matters as coffee is something that cannot be grown in the British Isles, however, it is highly popular, showing a continuous increase in demand that puts a strain on the producing countries. The author has tried to link the findings to other environmental factors and this is what is presented in the paper.},
