Fieldwork was carried out in three rural Hungarian microregions selected on the basis of a typology developed through statistical analysis. The central question of the study assumes that the way people name the place where they live is an expression of their sense of place and that it is related to their perceptions about narrower locality and also the general attitudes they have towards the rural or urban landscape. To prove this hypothesis, we examined, in three microregions, how people name their own living area, how they relate to the countryside and rural way of life, and how they describe their own locality in their own words (positive and negative aspects). Based on analyses, three different landscape perception types were outlined and were seen to be interconnected with three ways of place naming: (i) a “close-to-nature” perception in relation to geographical place names; (ii) a “cultural-historical” identification in connection with cultural names and (iii) “lifestyle-service” focused landscape perception linked to administrative place naming.}, year = {2023}, eissn = {2073-445X}, orcid-numbers = {Megyesi, Gergely Boldizsár/0000-0001-7511-8298; Szabolcsi, Zsolt/0000-0002-4682-7957} } @article{MTMT:33813429, title = {The prospects of innovative agri-environmental contracts in the European policy context: Results from a Delphi study}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/33813429}, author = {Kelemen, Eszter and Megyesi, Gergely Boldizsár and Matzdorf, Bettina and Andersen, Erling and van Bussel, Lenny G.J. and Dumortier, Myriam and Dutilly, Céline and García-Llorente, Marina and Hamon, Christine and LePage, Annabelle and Moruzzo, Roberta and Prager, Katrin and Riccioli, Francesco and Yacamán-Ochoa, Carolina and Megyesi, Boldizsár}, doi = {10.1016/j.landusepol.2023.106706}, journal-iso = {LAND USE POLICY}, journal = {LAND USE POLICY}, volume = {131}, unique-id = {33813429}, issn = {0264-8377}, year = {2023}, eissn = {1873-5754}, pages = {on-line 106706}, orcid-numbers = {Megyesi, Gergely Boldizsár/0000-0001-7511-8298} } @article{MTMT:33775657, title = {Energy Use Research in the Social Sciences–Introduction to a Research Topic}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/33775657}, author = {Kovách, Imre and Megyesi, Gergely Boldizsár}, doi = {10.3390/en16083402}, journal-iso = {ENERGIES}, journal = {ENERGIES}, volume = {16}, unique-id = {33775657}, issn = {1996-1073}, abstract = {In our paper we analyse the scientific perception of energy use in the social sciences [...]}, year = {2023}, eissn = {1996-1073}, pages = {3402}, orcid-numbers = {Megyesi, Gergely Boldizsár/0000-0001-7511-8298} } @article{MTMT:33532792, title = {Motivations of subsistence farming in Hungary. According to European and national- level policy analysis, subsistence farming is a cornerstone of European agriculture, as it is a central element of a positive rural image. The paper is based on earlier theories on subsistence farming, and argues that it is worth analyzing the different factors influencing subsist-ence farming in order to better understand the motivations of participating in this kind of activity. The paper analyses the role of five different factors on subsistence farming: economic, societal, policy, discursive, and sustainabil-ity factors, and argues that, although all five factors are important in order to understand the phenomenon, economic and policy factors are the most important in this type of activity, while sustainability is almost imperceptible.}, year = {2023}, eissn = {1549-0831}, pages = {283-311}, orcid-numbers = {Megyesi, Gergely Boldizsár/0000-0001-7511-8298} } @article{MTMT:33530554, title = {Knowledge Use and Environmental Education in Hungarian School Gardens}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/33530554}, author = {Kovách, Imre and Megyesi, Gergely Boldizsár}, doi = {10.3390/environsciproc2022014014}, journal-iso = {Environ.
