We present data from the Bukk Mts of two Trapeliopsis species which appear to be rare in Hungary. Multiclavula mucida, which is apparently a rare basidiomycete lichen species in Europe that prefers humid, montane habitats was discovered in the Mecsek Mts as a new species for the Hungarian flora. Of the knothole moss, Anacamptodon splachnoides, which is now thought to be entomophilic, we communicate the only extant population from Southern Transdanubia. We report the first occurrence of the atlantic-mediterranean Leptodon smithii from the Hungarian side of the Great Hungarian Plain. Numerous data of the corticole Neckera pennata indicate that in Hungary the distributional centre of this species is situated in the county of Baranya in the lowlands. New data from the Bukk Mts underline that in the Pannonian region Buxbaumia viridis is primarily a terricole species of acidophilous beech forests. We communicate the first occurrence from the lowlands of the alien lignicolous Sematophyllum adnatum which is dangerously spreading in Europe, at the same time one of the most vigorous populations in the Pannonian region. The third Hungarian occurrence of Callicladium haldanianum, a species that seems to spread in bogs, as well as the second occurrence of Racomitrium lanuginosum, growing abundantly on an andesite boulder scree in Matra Mts, are also reported here. Of Phegopteris connectilis we present in photographic documentation the first extant population from Southern Transdanubia, and we discuss whether the first publication from Mecsek Mts is correct or exact. In addition to listing the floristic data, we also briefly discuss the (mis)use of distribution data in the context of climate change, the difficulties of distinguishing the microtaxa of some pteridophytes, e.g. Asplenium adiantum-nigrum agg. and Dryopteris affinis agg., and we correct one of our previously published, erroneous Hedwigia stellata data. Some interesting data of other taxa (such as Leucobryum glaucum, Palustriella commutata, Tetraphis pellucida, Gymnocarpium robertianum, Ophioglossum vulgatum) are also mentioned in the paper. © 2023 The Author(s).}, keywords = {taxonomy; nature conservation; Red List; threatened; legally protected}, year = {2023}, eissn = {2064-4507}, pages = {173-184} } @article{MTMT:34217510, title = {PADAPT 1.0 – the Pannonian Dataset of Plant Traits}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34217510}, author = {Sonkoly, Judit and Tóth, Edina and Balogh, Nóra and Balogh, Lajos and Bartha, Dénes and Csendesné Bata, Kinga and Bátori, Zoltán and Békefi, Nóra and Botta-Dukát, Zoltán and Bölöni, János and Csecserits, Anikó and Csiky, János and Csontos, Péter and Dancza, István and Deák, Balázs and Dobolyi, Zoltán Konstantin and E-Vojtkó, Anna and Gyulai, Ferenc and Hábenczyus, Alida Anna and Henn, Tamás and Horváth, Ferenc and Höhn, Mária Margit and Jakab, Gusztáv and Kelemen, András and Király, Botond Gergely and Kis, Szabolcs and Kovacsics-Vári, Gergely and Kun, András and Lehoczky, Éva and Lengyel, Attila and Lhotsky, Barbara and Löki, Viktor and Lukács, Balázs András and Matus, Gábor and McIntoshné Buday, Andrea and Mesterházy, Attila and Miglécz, Tamás and Molnár V, Attila and Molnár, Zsolt and Morschhauser, Tamás and Papp, László and Pósa, Patrícia and Rédei, Tamás and Schmidt, Dávid and Szmorad, Ferenc and Takács, Attila and Tamás, Júlia and Tiborcz, Viktor and Tölgyesi, Csaba and Tóth, Katalin and Tóthmérész, Béla and Valkó, Orsolya and Virók, Viktor and Wirth, Tamás and Török, Péter}, doi = {10.1038/s41597-023-02619-9}, journal-iso = {SCI DATA}, journal = {SCIENTIFIC DATA}, volume = {10}, unique-id = {34217510}, abstract = {The existing plant trait databases’ applicability is limited for studies dealing with the flora and vegetation of the eastern and central part of Europe and for large-scale comparisons across regions, mostly because their geographical data coverage is limited and they incorporate records from several different sources, often from regions with markedly different climatic conditions. These problems motivated the compilation of a regional dataset for the flora of the Pannonian region (Eastern Central Europe). PADAPT, the Pannonian Dataset of Plant Traits relies on regional data sources and collates data on 54 traits and attributes of the plant species of the Pannonian region. The current version covers approximately 90% of the species of the region and consists of 126,337 records on 2745 taxa. We present here our preliminary results based on recent fieldwork and herbarium studies.MethodsWe recorded bryophyte occurrences in grid cells (quadrants) of approximately 5.5 x 6 km. Frequency was determined based on the number of quadrants, and geographical distribution evaluated in terms of the 19 administrative units (counties) of the country. To investigate correlations between species richness and relevant environmental drivers, statistical analyses were carried out.Key resultsA total of 698 bryophyte taxa (2 hornworts, 151 liverworts and 545 mosses) have been found in the territory of Hungary. For each of the 637 taxa that have been observed since 1973, one of five frequency classes (very common, common, sporadic to frequent, rare, and very rare) has been assigned based on the relevant number of field records or herbarium specimens. Additionally, tabular distributional information (occurrence in each of the 19 counties) is presented for each taxon. In the statistical evaluation of the geographical distribution data, the elevational range and the size of the surveyed area were positively correlated with bryophyte richness, whereas arable land cover was negatively correlated.ConclusionsAlthough the survey was not uniform or complete across the different counties, the results support some robust bryogeographical theories. We hope to have the opportunity in the near future to compile a new Hungarian bryophyte Red List, partly based on these national frequency data.}, keywords = {Mosses; Hornworts; liverworts; rarity; Counties}, year = {2023}, eissn = {1743-2820}, pages = {121-148}, orcid-numbers = {Csiky, János/0000-0002-7920-5070; Baráth, Kornél/0000-0002-4564-776X; Beránek, Ábel/0000-0002-4675-6992; Deme, Judit/0000-0001-7906-3749; Jakab, Gusztáv/0000-0002-2569-5967; Mesterházy, Attila/0000-0001-7952-5990; Nagy, Zoltán/0000-0003-2034-9333; Németh, Csaba/0000-0002-3482-0512; Pócs, Tamás/0000-0002-1359-1298; Schmidt, Dávid/0000-0002-5387-9982; Szűcs, Péter/0000-0002-3988-7062; Papp, Beáta/0000-0002-9061-9987} } @article{MTMT:34028504, title = {Az Asplenium trichomanes alakkör (Aspleniaceae) hazai taxonómiai sokféleségéről, és a subsp. hastatum magyarországi elterjedéséről}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34028504}, author = {Csiky, János and Wirth, Tamás and Tamás, Júlia}, doi = {10.17716/BotKozlem.2023.110.1.61}, journal-iso = {BOTANIKAI KÖZL}, journal = {BOTANIKAI KÖZLEMÉNYEK}, volume = {110}, unique-id = {34028504}, issn = {0006-8144}, abstract = {A magyarországi határozókulcsok napjainkig csupán két aranyos fodorka (Asplenium trichomanes agg.) taxon elkülönítését tették lehetővé (subsp. trichomanes és subsp. quadrivalens). Herbáriumi, irodalmi és saját terepi kutatásaink eredményeként Magyarországon három tetraploid Asplenium trichomanes agg. taxon biztos előfordulását igazoltuk. Ezek közül a subsp. quadrivalens országszerte elterjedt, közönségesnek mondható. Újrafelfedezésükre 2022-ben, a 2006 óta folyó pécsi városi flóratérképezésnek, illetve a 2022-ben végzett herbáriumi revízióknak köszönhetően került sor. Vizsgálataink alapján e taxonok elkülönítése a füles vállú levélszárnyak aránya alapján is elvégezhető: a subsp. quadrivalens-nek csak <20%-a, a subsp. hastatum-nak már >50%-a fülecskés és szimmetrikus, míg a hibridjük átmeneti jellegű, inkább a subsp. quadrivalens-hez hasonló. A subsp. hastatum jelenleg ismert adatai alapján Magyarországon kifejezetten ritka, domb- és hegyvidéki előfordulású (Aggteleki Karszt, Bükk, Budai-hegység, Bakony, Soproni-hegység, Mecsek), mészkedvelő faj. Hazai elterjedési adatai szerint a subsp. hastatum az IUCN vörös lista kategóriák közül a veszélyeztetett (EN) besorolást is megérdemelné, egyelőre azonban adathiányos (DD) taxonként való kezelését javasoljuk.
