Electrical capacitance (C R ), dissipation factor (D R ) and electrical conductance (G R ) were detected during the 24 to 168 h after Cd treatment (0, 20, 50 mg Cd 2+ kg –1 substrate) in potted maize, cucumber and pea. Stress was also evaluated by measuring leaf chlorophyll content, F v /F m and stomatal conductance (g s ) in situ , and shoot and root mass and total root length after harvest. C R showed a clear diurnal pattern, reflecting the water uptake rate, and decreased significantly in response to excessive Cd due to impeded root growth, the reduced tissue permittivity caused by accelerated lignification, and root ageing. Cd exposure markedly increased D R , indicating greater conductive energy loss due to oxidative membrane damage and enhanced electrolyte leakage. G R , which was coupled with root hydraulic conductance and varied diurnally, was increased transiently by Cd toxicity due to enhanced membrane permeability, but declined thereafter owing to stress-induced leaf senescence and transpiration loss. The time series of impedance components indicated the comparatively high Cd tolerance of the applied maize and the sensitivity of pea cultivar, which was confirmed by visible shoot symptoms, repeated physiological investigations and biomass measurements. The results demonstrated the potential of single-frequency dielectric measurements to follow certain aspects of the stress response of different species on a fine timescale without plant injury. The approach can be combined with widely used plant physiological methods and could contribute to breeding crop genotypes with improved stress tolerance.}, year = {2024}, eissn = {1614-7499}, orcid-numbers = {Cseresnyés, Imre/0000-0002-4198-9770; Takács, Tünde Mária/0000-0002-2399-2415; Füzy, Anna/0000-0001-7738-6368} } @article{MTMT:34502809, title = {Advancing noninvasive and nondestructive root phenotyping techniques: A two-phase permittivity model for accurate estimation of root volume}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34502809}, author = {Gu, Huijie and Cseresnyés, Imre and Butnor, John R. and Li, Baoru and Sun, Hongyong and Zhang, Xiying and Lu, Yang and Liu, Xiuwei}, doi = {10.1016/j.geoderma.2024.116773}, journal-iso = {GEODERMA}, journal = {GEODERMA}, volume = {442}, unique-id = {34502809}, issn = {0016-7061}, year = {2024}, eissn = {1872-6259}, orcid-numbers = {Cseresnyés, Imre/0000-0002-4198-9770} } @article{MTMT:34498574, title = {Monitoring of plant water uptake by measuring root dielectric properties on a fine timescale: diurnal changes and response to leaf excision}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34498574}, author = {Cseresnyés, Imre and Füzy, Anna and Kabos, Sándor and Kelemen, Bettina and Rajkai, Kálmán László and Takács, Tünde Mária}, doi = {10.1186/s13007-023-01133-8}, journal-iso = {PLANT METHODS}, journal = {PLANT METHODS}, volume = {20}, unique-id = {34498574}, issn = {1746-4811}, year = {2024}, eissn = {1746-4811}, orcid-numbers = {Cseresnyés, Imre/0000-0002-4198-9770; Füzy, Anna/0000-0001-7738-6368; Kabos, Sándor/0000-0003-3508-7348; Kelemen, Bettina/0000-0002-5345-6453; Rajkai, Kálmán László/0000-0003-4095-774X; Takács, Tünde Mária/0000-0002-2399-2415} } @{MTMT:34212602, title = {Búza levélfelület és gyökér elektromos kapacitás mérések szabadföldi szén-dioxid dúsítási tartamkísérletben}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34212602}, author = {Pokovai, Klára and Cseresnyés, Imre and Barcza, Zoltán and Fodor, Nándor}, booktitle = {Növény és környezet: a debreceni tartamkísérletek 40 éve}, unique-id = {34212602}, year = {2023}, pages = {46-47}, orcid-numbers = {Cseresnyés, Imre/0000-0002-4198-9770} } @article{MTMT:34165291, title = {Soil biological activity after a sixty-year fertilization practice in a wheat-maize crop rotation}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34165291}, author = {Füzy, Anna and Parádi, István and Kelemen, Bettina and Kovács, Ramóna and Cseresnyés, Imre and Szili Kovács, Tibor and Árendás, Tamás and Fodor, Nándor and Takács, Tünde Mária}, doi = {10.1371/journal.pone.0292125}, journal-iso = {PLOS ONE}, journal = {PLOS ONE}, volume = {18}, unique-id = {34165291}, issn = {1932-6203}, abstract = {This study aimed to survey the long-term effects of fertilization practices on the functional diversity of the soil microbiota. A 60-year fertilization experiment with mineral fertilizers, farmyard manure and combined treatments was sampled in two consecutive years in maize ( Zea mays L.) and wheat ( Triticum aestivum L.). Soil chemical properties, plant growth and physiological parameters were measured. The MicroResp TM method was applied to assess the community level physiological profiles (CLPPs) of the rhizosphere soil, and the arbuscular mycorrhizal fungal (AMF) colonization of the roots was determined. Samples were taken in the early vegetative stages, at flowering, and at harvest in both years. The measured parameters were analysed using multifactorial ANOVA to determine treatment effects, crop-dependent differences, and seasonality. PCA analysis was performed on the data matrix to reveal more complex correspondences, and Pearson’s product-moment correlation was used to confirm relationships between some of the measured soil and plant parameters. Fertilization treatments caused long-term changes in some biological parameters such as: MicroResp TM parameters, citrate utilization, total substrate-induced respiration value, and the ratio of utilization of amino acids and sugars. The rate of AMF colonization responded mainly to the plant nutrition status and the plant requirements, suggesting a plant-mediated effect in the case of mycorrhiza. Mineral nitrogen fertilization and soil acidification were found to be the main factors affecting the catabolic activity of soil microbiota, while AMF colonization responded to the balance of plant nutrition.}, year = {2023}, eissn = {1932-6203}, orcid-numbers = {Füzy, Anna/0000-0001-7738-6368; Parádi, István/0000-0003-0825-5000; Kelemen, Bettina/0000-0002-5345-6453; Cseresnyés, Imre/0000-0002-4198-9770; Szili Kovács, Tibor/0000-0002-8354-0656; Takács, Tünde Mária/0000-0002-2399-2415} } @CONFERENCE{MTMT:34145494, title = {Soil fertility and rhizospheric activity of giant reed (Arundo donax L.) grown in acidic sandy soil treated by wastewater sludge compost and AM fungi}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34145494}, author = {Rév, Ambrus and Parádi, István and Füzy, Anna and Juhász, Péter and Kocsis, Katica and Cseresnyés, Imre and Takács, Tünde Mária}, booktitle = {CEESME Central and Eastern Europe Symposium on Microbial Ecology}, unique-id = {34145494}, year = {2023}, pages = {74-75}, orcid-numbers = {Parádi, István/0000-0003-0825-5000; Füzy, Anna/0000-0001-7738-6368; Cseresnyés, Imre/0000-0002-4198-9770; Takács, Tünde Mária/0000-0002-2399-2415} } @{MTMT:34133876, title = {Impedance phase angle measurement reveals root stress response in situ}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34133876}, author = {Cseresnyés, Imre and Barna, Gyöngyi and Füzy, Anna and Takács, Tünde Mária and Rajkai, Kálmán László}, booktitle = {14th International Conference on Agrophysics: book of abstracts}, unique-id = {34133876}, year = {2023}, pages = {155-156}, orcid-numbers = {Cseresnyés, Imre/0000-0002-4198-9770; Barna, Gyöngyi/0000-0003-0967-5015; Füzy, Anna/0000-0001-7738-6368; Takács, Tünde Mária/0000-0002-2399-2415; Rajkai, Kálmán László/0000-0003-4095-774X} } @CONFERENCE{MTMT:34124522, title = {Root electrical capacitance indicates wheat nutritional status and predicts grain yield non-destructively}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34124522}, author = {Cseresnyés, Imre and Tóth, Eszter and Péter, Mikó and Judit, Bányai and Pokovai, Klára}, booktitle = {Wageningen soil conference}, unique-id = {34124522}, year = {2023}, pages = {74-75}, orcid-numbers = {Cseresnyés, Imre/0000-0002-4198-9770} } @article{MTMT:34055719, title = {Combined effects of wastewater sludge compost and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi on improvement of soil fertility and rhizospheric activity of giant reed (Arundo donax L.)}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34055719}, author = {Rév, Ambrus and Parádi, István and Füzy, Anna and Juhász, Péter and Kocsis, Katica and Cseresnyés, Imre and Takács, Tünde Mária}, journal-iso = {ACTA MICROBIOL IMMUNOL HUNG}, journal = {ACTA MICROBIOLOGICA ET IMMUNOLOGICA HUNGARICA}, volume = {70}, unique-id = {34055719}, issn = {1217-8950}, year = {2023}, eissn = {1588-2640}, pages = {79-80}, orcid-numbers = {Parádi, István/0000-0003-0825-5000; Füzy, Anna/0000-0001-7738-6368; Cseresnyés, Imre/0000-0002-4198-9770; Takács, Tünde Mária/0000-0002-2399-2415} }
