Inflation elasticities are decomposed into local, simple, and complex global value chain effects by applying Wang's decomposition scheme (Wang et al. 2017) to price movements and inflation. Our empirical analysis based on GIOPED elasticities shows that Hungary is highly exposed to global value chain price transmissions originating in Germany, Austria, and Russia; and in particular to changes in energy prices. The crude oil and natural gas price boom and the resulting energy crises caused a significant increase in consumer price levels in Hungary; however, this explains only a fraction of current inflation rates.}, year = {2023}, eissn = {1588-970X}, pages = {186-207}, orcid-numbers = {Koppány, Krisztián/0000-0002-4235-5817} } @article{MTMT:34105668, title = {Foreign trade relations of Hungary with China. Even though Hungarian trade relations are oriented towards the EU, the direct and indirect influence of Asia, mainly China, needs special attention. The paper focuses on direct bilateral relations between Hungary and China. The global value chain perspective enables the research to detect inter- and intra-industry dependencies and unfold and compare the industry focuses and dynamics of backward and forward linkages between 2000 and 2018. We used a mixed methodology, combining input-output analysis with company case studies based on a wide range of literature both from Chinese and East-Central European researchers. The findings support the significance of global value chain relations, highlight the restructuring of Hungarian trade relations with China over the past twenty years, and indicate the strong concentration of relations in terms of the number of companies.}, year = {2023}, eissn = {1588-970X}, pages = {229-249}, orcid-numbers = {Koppány, Krisztián/0000-0002-4235-5817} } @article{MTMT:34085581, title = {A controlling eltéréselemzés módszerei I.}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34085581}, author = {Koppány, Krisztián and Kresalek, Péter}, doi = {10.24387/CI.2023.2.1}, journal-iso = {CONTROLLER INFO}, journal = {CONTROLLER INFO}, volume = {11}, unique-id = {34085581}, issn = {2063-9309}, year = {2023}, pages = {2-6}, orcid-numbers = {Koppány, Krisztián/0000-0002-4235-5817} } @{MTMT:33807323, title = {Hungary-China Foreign Trade Relations: The Role of Global Value Chains}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/33807323}, author = {Tölgyessy Péterné Sass, Magdolna and Gáspár, Tamás and Koppány, Krisztián and Bi, Shulei}, booktitle = {Energy crisis and security challenges in the World: Sustainable responses of the Asian economies and societies}, unique-id = {33807323}, keywords = {COMPANIES; foreign trade; global value chains; China’; Hungary}, year = {2023}, pages = {44}, orcid-numbers = {Koppány, Krisztián/0000-0002-4235-5817} } @{MTMT:33761075, title = {GIOPED_1995_2000_2005_2008_2010_2015. figshare. This paper deals with this phenomenon by presenting and applying an input-output model of global cost-push price transmissions using the 2021 edition of OECD Inter-Country Input-Output (ICIO) tables. Output prices are linked to several inflation rates by the concept of inflation-to-output price elasticity. Inflation elastici-ties are decomposed into local, simple, and complex global value chain effects and collected into the Global Inflation-to-Output Price Elasticity Database (GIOPED) published along with the paper. A step-by-step guide shows how to import data and perform quick interactive form impact analyses in Microsoft Excel. The presented GIOPED exercises reveal that local value chains are still dominant in determining inflation, although there are significant differences bet-ween countries. For Hungary, selected for an illustrative country study, inflation elasticities are higher with smaller domestic components, and exposures to current global shocks are consi-derable. Movements of energy commodity prices explain about a third of autumn 2022 Hunga-rian inflation rates.}, year = {2023}, pages = {1-48}, orcid-numbers = {Koppány, Krisztián/0000-0002-4235-5817} } @article{MTMT:33754208, title = {A vízesés-diagram alkalmazási lehetőségei a controlling és az üzleti elemzés területén}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/33754208}, author = {Koppány, Krisztián}, doi = {10.24387/CI.2023.1.8}, journal-iso = {CONTROLLER INFO}, journal = {CONTROLLER INFO}, volume = {11}, unique-id = {33754208}, issn = {2063-9309}, year = {2023}, pages = {48-53}, orcid-numbers = {Koppány, Krisztián/0000-0002-4235-5817} }
