To implement the model, banking indicators of the USA, India, and Great Britain were selected: the volume of commercial and industrial loans, interest rate, consumer price index, total liabilities and capital of banks, aggregate deposits, federal funds rate (for the USA), and repo rate (for India). The study examined central bank data of the specified countries from July 2018 to January 2024 with the TVL indicator, which measures the sum of all assets locked in DeFi protocols. The results of the impulse response function (IRF) for countries demonstrate different interactions between TVL and bank indicators. The US response to TVL shocks demonstrates a stimulative monetary policy, with significant Fed rate reductions and increased commercial lending to boost economic activity. In contrast, India’s monetary stimulus, marked by declining repo rates and growth in banking sector liabilities and deposits, aims to enhance economic resilience. The UK, however, adopts a conservative monetary approach, with sharp bank rate increases and mixed lending and deposit responses, prioritizing financial stability. Analysis across these nations highlights different impacts of financial indicators on TVL. In the US, the evolving relationship between TVL and bank indicators reflects the financial system’s complexity. India’s sensitivity to monetary policy, credit conditions, and inflation significantly influences TVL. In the UK, central bank decisions, particularly the bank rate, play a crucial role in financial market dynamics.AcknowledgmentThe authors appreciate the assistance in the preparation of the article provided by the University of Debrecen Program for Scientific Publication and the János Bolyai Research Scholarship of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.}, year = {2024}, eissn = {1991-7074}, pages = {53-74}, orcid-numbers = {Frolov, Serhiy/0000-0001-9374-7274; Ivasenko, Maksym/0009-0000-8981-2256; Dykha, Mariia/0000-0003-4405-9429; Shalyhina, Iryna/0000-0003-2906-3593; Hrabar, Vladyslav/0009-0004-3464-9147} } @article{MTMT:34473505, title = {Justice and finance: Does judicial efficiency contribute to financial system efficiency?}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34473505}, author = {Khan, Muhammad Atif and Khan, Muhammad Asif and Khan, Mohammed Arshad and Hussain, Shahid and Fenyves, Veronika}, doi = {10.1016/j.bir.2023.12.013}, journal-iso = {BORSA ISTANB REV}, journal = {BORSA ISTANBUL REVIEW}, volume = {24}, unique-id = {34473505}, issn = {2214-8450}, year = {2024}, eissn = {2214-8469}, pages = {248-255}, orcid-numbers = {Khan, Muhammad Asif/0000-0002-3563-2951; Khan, Mohammed Arshad/0000-0002-8375-8110} } @article{MTMT:34158502, title = {Application of text mining in the analysis of notes to financial statements: A Hungarian case}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34158502}, author = {Fenyves, Veronika and Tarnóczi, Tibor}, journal-iso = {J INT STUDIES}, journal = {JOURNAL OF INTERNATIONAL STUDIES}, volume = {17}, unique-id = {34158502}, issn = {2071-8330}, year = {2024}, eissn = {2306-3483}, orcid-numbers = {Tarnóczi, Tibor/0000-0002-5655-6871} } @article{MTMT:34757305, title = {A kontrolling szerepe az államháztartás gazdálkodásában}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34757305}, author = {Túróczi, Imre and Fenyves, Veronika and Tóth, Róbert and Szentesi, Ibolya}, doi = {10.24307/psz.2023.1209}, journal-iso = {POLGÁRI SZEMLE}, journal = {POLGÁRI SZEMLE: GAZDASÁGI ÉS TÁRSADALMI FOLYÓIRAT}, volume = {19}, unique-id = {34757305}, issn = {1786-6553}, abstract = {Az államháztartás az állam azon tevékenysége, amely során a társadalmi közös szükségletek kielégítésére törekszik. The research also investigated whether the financial statement manipulations depend on the type of sector, company size and age, and region. The research sample was comprised of 32,024 financial statements each year. Statistical tests were used to compare the M-score values of several groups. The proportion of companies with possibly manipulated financial statements varied between 46.43% and 51.67% in the five years. It can be concluded that the manipulation of Hungarian companies` reports is very high. The analysis showed that the ratios of unlikely manipulated (UM) and likely manipulated (LM) reports were improved at size category 1-4, and size category five significantly improved. The comparison by regions revealed that the UM/LM indicator is lower in more developed regions than in less developed ones. The results draw the attention of government decision-makers to pay more attention to checking financial statements. In addition, it shows to the companies` stakeholders that the reliability of the financial statements must also be considered during their decision preparations and risk assessment.}, year = {2023}, eissn = {2306-3459}, pages = {347-363}, orcid-numbers = {Tarnóczi, Tibor/0000-0002-5655-6871} } @article{MTMT:34161387, title = {A számviteli beszámolók információinak döntéstámogató szerepe}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34161387}, author = {Kerezsi, Dóra and Bács, Zoltán and Fenyves, Veronika}, journal-iso = {CONTROLLER INFO}, journal = {CONTROLLER INFO}, volume = {11}, unique-id = {34161387}, issn = {2063-9309}, year = {2023}, pages = {7-11} } @article{MTMT:33715490, title = {Role of institutions in promoting finance in emerging markets: A panel data analysis}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/33715490}, author = {Aman, Arfia and Khan, Muhammad Asif and Khan, Mohammed Arshad and Haider, Ahsanuddin and Oláh, Judit and Fenyves, Veronika}, doi = {10.1371/journal.pone.0280849}, journal-iso = {PLOS ONE}, journal = {PLOS ONE}, volume = {18}, unique-id = {33715490}, issn = {1932-6203}, abstract = {Differences in institutions have garnered much attention in recent years as one of the primary reasons for long-term economic performance, and a vast corpus of theoretical and empirical research demonstrates that financial development can have a substantial impact on economic and financial performance. In fast-growing emerging markets, the demand for financial services has considerably increased, which amplified the need for an efficient regulatory framework to deal with the sensitive nature of financial activities. Surprisingly, the existing literature on the impact of institutions and finance is focused on developed economies, while emerging markets are rarely focused on. Since emerging markets are becoming increasingly important as a result of the swift evolution of institutional and financial transformation, it is crucial to examine how the growth of financial markets reacts to institutional quality. This study investigates the role of institutions in promoting finance in emerging economies using the balanced panel dataset of 21 emerging market. Given the endogenous relationship between institutions and finance, the paper applies a two-stage least squares estimator to test the settler mortality hypothesis in this context. Aligned with theoretical intuition, the empirical result shows that settler mortality is a relevant instrument to institutions. Furthermore, the study performs robustness, using framework that deals with heterogeneity, and cross-section dependence. This empirical effort validates La Porta’s Law and Finance Hypothesis in the context of emerging markets. The results of the study are found robust across the variety of alternative measures of institutions and finance, and standard error correction specifications. Therefore, the study offers useful insight into policy implications.}, keywords = {economic aspect; intuition; least square analysis; Financial market}, year = {2023}, eissn = {1932-6203}, orcid-numbers = {Aman, Arfia/0000-0002-4118-8324; Khan, Muhammad Asif/0000-0002-3563-2951; Oláh, Judit/0000-0003-2247-1711} } @article{MTMT:33563274, title = {Asymmetric Effect of Investors Sentiments on Herding Behavior and Stock Returns: Pre and Post Covid-19 Analysis}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/33563274}, author = {Bagh, Tanveer and Asif Khan, Muhammad and Fenyves, Veronika and Oláh, Judit}, doi = {10.14254/1800-5845/2023.19-1.4}, journal-iso = {MONTEN J ECON}, journal = {MONTENEGRIN JOURNAL OF ECONOMICS}, volume = {19}, unique-id = {33563274}, issn = {1800-5845}, year = {2023}, eissn = {1800-6698}, pages = {43-55}, orcid-numbers = {Oláh, Judit/0000-0003-2247-1711} } @article{MTMT:33678744, title = {Roguelike Games - The way we play}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/33678744}, author = {Szabolcs, Gergely Orbán and Szabados, György Norbert and Bácsné Bába, Éva and Fenyves, Veronika and Bács, Zoltán and Molnár, Anikó and Ráthonyi, Gergely Gábor and Hussain, Muhammad Rizwan}, doi = {10.21791/IJEMS.2022.4.7.}, journal-iso = {IJEMS MMTK}, journal = {INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF ENGINEERING AND MANAGEMENT SCIENCES / MŰSZAKI ÉS MENEDZSMENT TUDOMÁNYI KÖZLEMÉNYEK}, volume = {7}, unique-id = {33678744}, issn = {2498-700X}, abstract = {The spread of the game able personal computers and game consoles resulted in the diversification of the video game genre, and from the 7thgeneration of the gaming consoles,the experience support of the games became largely enhanced. We analysed corporate efficiency by using stochastic frontier analysis (SFA). We used two methods to perform the SFA calculations – the Cobb-Douglas and translog functions. The result variable for the SFA calculation was gross value added (GVA), and the explanatory variables were tangibles, material costs, employee costs and other costs. The original database contained cross-sectional and time series data and was transformed into a panel database. We used the maximum log-likelihood method for parameter estimation. We performed the efficiency analysis in the case of the Cobb-Douglas and translog functions in two ways – first, without z variables (factor effects) and second, considering different factors (subsectors, workforce categories, ranking by total assets and ranking by total sales). Taking z variables into account increased the value of the efficiency coefficients. The latter model's results show that the companies' average performance in the sector examined was more than 70%. Further calculations also showed that the subsectors of the agriculture, fisheries and forestry sector differed in efficiency scores. The larger companies operated more efficiently than the smaller ones in the sector examined.}, year = {2022}, eissn = {1805-9295}, pages = {413-426}, orcid-numbers = {Tarnóczi, Tibor/0000-0002-5655-6871} }
