This study assumes that environment oriented HRM practices have significant effects on circular economy-based performance. This study aims to investigate the contributory effect of five selected components of green HRM on the circular economy-based performance of environment-concerned banking organizations. A total of 418 managers of commercial banks are the unit of analysis, and data were derived using a structured questionnaire from the respondents who are working in managerial positions in banking organizations in Bangladesh. The gathered data has been encoded by SPSS and analyzed through PLS-SEM 4. The results of this study reveal that all components of green HRM, i.e., green employment design, planning, staffing, training, and benefits significantly contribute to the circular economy-based performance of the banking sector. Thus, green HRM effectively promotes the circular performance of banks to provide a distinctive perspective for adding value to the environmental concerns in an emerging economy.AcknowledgmentThe authors appreciate the support in preparing the article provided by the University of Debrecen Program for Scientific Publication.}, year = {2024}, eissn = {1991-7074}, pages = {75-87}, orcid-numbers = {Oláh, Judit/0000-0003-2247-1711} } @article{MTMT:34778298, title = {The impact of selected HRM factors on company´s survival of SMEs: Empirical research in V4 countries}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34778298}, author = {Belas, J. and Machova, R. and Oláh, Judit and Metzker, Z.}, doi = {10.14254/2071-8330.2024/17-1/7}, journal-iso = {J INT STUDIES}, journal = {JOURNAL OF INTERNATIONAL STUDIES}, volume = {17}, unique-id = {34778298}, issn = {2071-8330}, keywords = {Human resource management; Small and medium-sized enterprises}, year = {2024}, eissn = {2306-3483}, pages = {108-123}, orcid-numbers = {Oláh, Judit/0000-0003-2247-1711} } @article{MTMT:34714517, title = {Climate change and food security in South Asia: the importance of renewable energy and agricultural credit}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34714517}, author = {Rehman, Abdul and Batool, Zakia and Ma, Hengyun and Alvarado, Rafael and Oláh, Judit}, doi = {10.1057/s41599-024-02847-3}, journal-iso = {HUM SOC SCI COMMUN}, journal = {HUMANITIES & SOCIAL SCIENCES COMMUNICATIONS}, volume = {11}, unique-id = {34714517}, abstract = {Weather, trade restrictions, rising oil prices, a lack of financial support for farmers, and other factors have contributed to the destabilization of South Asian food security. The purpose of this study is to determine the long-run and short-run relationships between climate change, agricultural credit, renewable energy, and food security for a sample of South Asian countries between 1990 and 2021. The Dynamic Common Correlated technique is utilized for empirical analysis since it directly addresses the issue of cross-sectional dependency while delivering accurate cointegration findings. The study’s empirical findings show that climate change reduces food availability and increases the incidence of food insecurity in South Asia. In contrast, the use of renewable energy sources has a positive effect on food security in the short-run but not in the long-run, while the availability of credit to farmers has a positive effect on food security. Findings suggest that South Asian countries may reduce climate change’s negative effect on food security by investing in climate services, climate-resilient infrastructure, growing drought-resistant crops, using supplemental reinforced agricultural practices, and improving their weather forecasting capabilities.}, year = {2024}, eissn = {2662-9992}, orcid-numbers = {Oláh, Judit/0000-0003-2247-1711} } @article{MTMT:34690356, title = {Strategy towards sustainable energy transition: The effect of environmental governance, economic complexity and geopolitics}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34690356}, author = {Bakhsh, Satar and Zhang, Wei and Ali, Kishwar and Oláh, Judit}, doi = {10.1016/j.esr.2024.101330}, journal-iso = {ENERGY STRATEGY REV}, journal = {ENERGY STRATEGY REVIEWS}, volume = {52}, unique-id = {34690356}, issn = {2211-467X}, keywords = {ENVIRONMENTAL GOVERNANCE; energy transition; economic complexity; Geopolitical risk}, year = {2024}, eissn = {2211-4688}, orcid-numbers = {Oláh, Judit/0000-0003-2247-1711} } @article{MTMT:34629686, title = {Possibilities and limits of modelling of long-range economic consequences of air pollution. a case study}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34629686}, author = {Lakner, Zoltán and Popp, József and Oláh, Judit and Zéman, Zoltán and Molnár, Viktória}, doi = {10.1016/j.heliyon.2024.e26483}, journal-iso = {HELIYON}, journal = {HELIYON}, volume = {10}, unique-id = {34629686}, year = {2024}, eissn = {2405-8440}, orcid-numbers = {Popp, József/0000-0003-0848-4591; Oláh, Judit/0000-0003-2247-1711; Molnár, Viktória/0000-0002-2508-4429} } @article{MTMT:34522225, title = {Food miles on the shelves: the share of local food products in the Hungarian retail sector}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34522225}, author = {Kasza, Gyula and Oláh, Judit and Popp, József and Lakner, Zoltán and Fekete, László and Pósa, Enikő and Nugraha, Widya Satya and Szakos, Dávid}, doi = {10.1186/s40100-024-00297-8}, journal-iso = {AGRICULT FOOD ECON}, journal = {AGRICULTURAL AND FOOD ECONOMICS}, volume = {12}, unique-id = {34522225}, issn = {2193-7532}, abstract = {Share of national food products in retail is a frequent subject of policy debates. Local food is often associated with national security, sustainability, and support of local economy, contributing to value-added production, employment, rural development, and preservation of local food culture. Despite its importance, relevant academic literature about the proportion of national food in retail is basically non-existent. This paper presents a unique study that fills this gap and gives an account of the proportion of the main national food products in the Hungarian retail sector. The study presents a comprehensive picture of the food supply situation of the 10 largest retail chains in Hungary in the second half of 2020 for 16 key product categories (representing 67% of total food sales in value in the country), based on the experience of research that covered the physical examination of nearly 40 thousand individual food products. The study found that 70.85% of the analysed food products were supplied by domestic companies. Proportion of national products was higher for fresh food (meat, milk, perishable meat and milk products, eggs, fruits, and vegetables) and honey, while imports were dominant in higher value-added categories. Domestic chains had 15.37% points more local products in stock than international ones. The exact results can be used for benchmarking between companies and sectors, indicating comparative advantages and disadvantages, and provide solid basis for economic development plans.}, year = {2024}, eissn = {2193-7532}, pages = {0-24}, orcid-numbers = {Oláh, Judit/0000-0003-2247-1711; Popp, József/0000-0003-0848-4591; Szakos, Dávid/0000-0002-0280-0090} } @article{MTMT:34501417, title = {A Micro-Level Evidence of how Investor and Manager Herding Behavior Influence the Firm Financial Performance}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34501417}, author = {Sayyed, Sadaqat Hussain Shah and Muhammad, Asif Khan and Masood, Ahmed and Daniel, F. The study utilizes the micro-level data of 296 listed firms of Pakistan stock exchange (PSX) from 2013 to 2017. Empirical findings show that the investors’ and managers’ herding significantly affect FFP. The results are robust under alternative measurements of FFP. This study has a unique contribution to the literature on behavioral finance by addressing the astonishingly overlooked phenomena of firm-level biases and their potential impact on FFP. For prospective investor’s decision, the findings are significant in such way that the market index is irrelevant than the firm-level financial evidence. Explicitly, the study concludes that positive herding behavior is elucidated by the bullish trend and inverse herding behavior of investors with respective to firm value leads toward bearish trend of stock market index. The likelihood of market crash may become more stringent in circumstances once managers and investors interactively exhibit negative herding behavior. The fundamental cause of ecological degradation is the release of greenhouse gases that includes carbon dioxide produced by humans, which may still be harmful if the emissions come from unsustainable sources. The primary goal of this study was to examine the impact of coal and oil rents, urban agglomeration, and economic growth on environmental quality in Pakistan using yearly data from 1971 to 2019. The interaction between the key variables was identified using an asymmetric (Non-linear Autoregressive Distributed Lag) model. Natural resources have a considerable influence on environmen- tal quality according to long-run and short-run results. Economic progress is also significantly impacted, while through the analysis urban agglomeration has a detrimental influence on environmental quality through positive and negative shocks. Furthermore, the findings of oil rents had a negative and positive effect on carbonization, whereas coal rents had a negative impact on environmental inclusion. Carbon dioxide emission is presently a worldwide rising concern; thus, Pakistan should also play a substantial role regarding the reduction of CO 2 emission and adopt the productive policies in direction to support the environmental sustainability.}, year = {2024}, eissn = {1878-0571}, pages = {1-13}, orcid-numbers = {Alvarado, Rafael/0000-0002-3213-5431; Oláh, Judit/0000-0003-2247-1711; Qiang, Wu/0000-0002-9467-7877} } @article{MTMT:34148822, title = {Assessment of the environmental kuznets curve within EU-27: Steps toward environmental sustainability (1990–2019)}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34148822}, author = {Mohammed, Safwan and Gill, Abid Rashid and Ghosal, Kaushik and Al-Dalahmeh, Main and Alsafadi, Karam and Szabó, Szilárd and Oláh, Judit and Alkerdi, Ali and Ocwa, Akasairi and Harsányi, Endre}, doi = {10.1016/j.ese.2023.100312}, journal-iso = {Environmental Science and Ecotechnology}, journal = {Environmental Science and Ecotechnology}, volume = {18}, unique-id = {34148822}, issn = {2666-4984}, year = {2024}, eissn = {2666-4984}, orcid-numbers = {Gill, Abid Rashid/0000-0003-1961-5139; Ghosal, Kaushik/0000-0003-3235-0278; Alsafadi, Karam/0000-0001-8925-7918; Szabó, Szilárd/0000-0002-2670-7384; Oláh, Judit/0000-0003-2247-1711} }
