The point of the invention is that small tubes are mixed into the fertile soil, which keeps moisture or air in the soil, depending on their position. In the case of an entirely random distribution of the tubes within the soil, the tubes achieve both advantages. The point of this patent is the carefully designed size and amount of empty tubes fabricated from organic bio-degradable materials and micro-grinded specific minerals. Using these tubes in the plantations helps to avoid hydric stress and increases yield and improves quality. These small particles improve the water budget (significantly decreases water demand) and enhance the soil’s porosity. After the description of the principle of the tubes, including the positive impact of the tubes on micro-biotic life in the soil, technical advice is also presented on the optimum amounts of mixing the tubes into the soil, and ways of planting are illustrated for plant seedlings and tree saplings. Finally, six different plants planted and observed in Hungary demonstrate the usefulness of these effects. The most common feature of these results is that significant improvements are obtained by using the Agrooter® compared to the traditional plantation by using a 50% smaller amount of irrigation water. Infestation of Liriomyza spp. on lettuce leaves (Lactuca sativa L.) could reduce its quality significantly. This research aimed to study the effectiveness of garlic and neem leaves extract to control Liriomyza spp. Lettuce was cultivated in Nutrient Film Tecnique (NFT) hydroponic system. The experiment was arranged in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 9 various concentration of garlic and neem leaves extract, i.e., 15% garlic extract + 15% neem leaves extract, 15% garlic extract + 30% neem leaves extract, 15% garlic extract + 45% neem leaves extract, 30% garlic extract + 15% neem leaves extract, 30% garlic extract + 30% neem leaves extract, 30% Garlic extract + 45% neem leaves extract, 45% garlic extract + 15% neem leaves extract, 45% garlic extract + 30% neem leaves extract, 45% garlic extract + 45% neem leaves extract, and control (water). The results showed that the concentration of 45% garlic extract + 45% neem leaves extract resulted in 100% mortality of Liriomyza spp. imago, the damage intensity of 26.3%, leaves number of 11, plant height of 28.53 cm, fresh weight of 149.67 g and economic weight of 139.67 g. Application of botanical pesticide with concentration 45% garlic extract + 45% neem leaves extract could control Liriomyza spp. infestation in hydroponic lettuce plants. © 2023 The Authors, published by EDP Sciences. Our study leverages historical FAO data and employs an analytical lens to assess the divergent patterns of potato production between the European Union and regions including Asia, South America, and Africa. Focusing on temperature and precipitation as critical climatic factors, we discovered that these elements can considerably limit potato cultivation in warmer countries and significantly affect yields in temperate regions. Our findings corroborate the notion that climate change could result in diminished potato yields due to increased temperature and unfavorable water supply. Furthermore, it was observed that potato growth is adversely affected by higher temperatures and suboptimal water conditions, influencing plant development, leaf senescence, tuber growth, and ultimately, yield. Interestingly, our research also unveils a potential solution: the advent of drought-tolerant potato varieties and water-saving tillage technologies, which could help farmers adapt to these climatic changes. These findings underscore the urgent need for continued research in the development of climate-resilient crops and agricultural practices to ensure future food security.
