The scarcity of corneal donors adds a layer of complexity to patient treatment. Consequently, exploring artificial cornea substitutes has become imperative in the realm of clinical research. Scientific advancements have ushered in a plethora of innovative solutions, including keratoprostheses or decellularized cornea scaffolds. The development of three-dimensional (3D) printing has further expanded the horizons of research in this field, delving into the feasibility of bioprinted corneas and yielding numerous promising outcomes. However, the manufacturing of corneal products via 3D printing poses a substantial challenge, demanding a meticulous selection of materials and techniques to ensure the transparency and preservation of the optical and mechanical properties of the artificial cornea. In the review, we present the artificial cornea substitutes. Additionally, we aim to provide a concise overview of the 3D printing techniques and materials applicable to corneal bioprinting.}, year = {2024}, eissn = {2424-8002}, pages = {107-130}, orcid-numbers = {Kemény, Lajos/0000-0002-2119-9501; Veréb, Zoltán/0000-0002-9518-2155} } @article{MTMT:34523817, title = {Tumour regression predicts better response to interferon therapy in melanoma patients. a retrospective single centre study.}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34523817}, author = {Mezőlaki, Noémi and Baltás, Eszter and Ócsai, Henriette and Varga, Anita and Korom, Irma and Varga, Erika and Németh, István Balázs and Kis, Erika and Varga, János and Kocsis, Ádám László and Gyulai, Rolland Péter and Bukva, Mátyás and Kemény, Lajos and Oláh, Judit Magdolna}, doi = {10.1097/CMR.0000000000000935}, journal-iso = {MELANOMA RES}, journal = {MELANOMA RESEARCH}, volume = {34}, unique-id = {34523817}, issn = {0960-8931}, abstract = {We hypothesise that regression may have an impact on the effectiveness of adjuvant IFN therapy, based on its role in the host immune response. Our purpose is to investigate regression and ulceration as prognostic factors in case of interferon-alpha (IFN)-treated melanoma patients. We followed 357 IFN-treated melanoma patients retrospectively, investigating progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) depending on the presence of ulceration and regression. A Kaplan-Meier analysis was performed, and we used a Cox regression analysis to relate risk factors. The survival function of the Cox regression was used to measure the effect of regression and ulceration on PFS and OS depending on the Breslow thickness (T1-T4) of the primary tumour. Regression was significantly positively related to PFS ( P = 0.0018, HR = 0.352) and OS ( P = 0.0112, HR = 0.380), while ulceration showed a negative effect (PFS: P = 0.0001, HR = 2.629; OS: P = 0.0003, HR = 2.388). They influence survival independently. The most favourable outcome was measured in the regressed/non-ulcerated group, whereas the worse was in the non-regressed/ulcerated one. Of risk factors, Breslow thickness is the most significant predictor. The efficacy of regression is regardless of Breslow thickness, though the more favourable the impact of regression was in the thicker primary lesions. Our results indicate that regression is associated with a more favourable outcome for IFN-treated melanoma patients, whereas ulceration shows an inverse relation. Further studies are needed to analyse the survival benefit of regression in relation to innovative immune checkpoint inhibitors.}, year = {2024}, eissn = {1473-5636}, pages = {54-62}, orcid-numbers = {Baltás, Eszter/0000-0003-0357-7393; Gyulai, Rolland Péter/0000-0002-3286-8846; Bukva, Mátyás/0000-0002-5225-0285; Kemény, Lajos/0000-0002-2119-9501} } @article{MTMT:34687504, title = {Cytokines, chemokines, proteases, and protease inhibitors distinguish the uninvolvedskin of patients with mild and severe psoriasis}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34687504}, author = {Bozó, Renáta and Ambrus, Barbara and Flink, Lili Borbála and Ghaffarinia, Ameneh and Koncz, Balázs and Kemény, Lajos and Csörgő Sándorné Bata, Zsuzsanna}, journal-iso = {J INVEST DERMATOL}, journal = {JOURNAL OF INVESTIGATIVE DERMATOLOGY}, volume = {143}, unique-id = {34687504}, issn = {0022-202X}, year = {2023}, eissn = {1523-1747}, pages = {365-365}, orcid-numbers = {Bozó, Renáta/0000-0003-4242-2474; Kemény, Lajos/0000-0002-2119-9501; Csörgő Sándorné Bata, Zsuzsanna/0000-0002-3732-1743} } @article{MTMT:34513980, title = {Investigation of the contribution of cutibacterium acnes to the acne-related post-inflammatory pigmentation changes}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34513980}, author = {Balogh, Fanni and Erdei, Lilla and Bolla, Beáta Szilvia and Takács, Anna and Toldi, Blanka and Burián, Katalin and Kemény, Lajos and Szabó, Kornélia Ágnes}, journal-iso = {BVSZ}, journal = {BŐRGYÓGYÁSZATI ÉS VENEROLÓGIAI SZEMLE}, volume = {99}, unique-id = {34513980}, issn = {0006-7768}, year = {2023}, eissn = {2064-261X}, pages = {448}, orcid-numbers = {Erdei, Lilla/0000-0001-8129-2364; Burián, Katalin/0000-0003-1300-2374; Kemény, Lajos/0000-0002-2119-9501; Szabó, Kornélia Ágnes/0000-0002-6231-3251} } @article{MTMT:34513963, title = {LI37-self nucleic acid complex induces innate immune memory funtions in human keratinocytes}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34513963}, author = {Balogh, Fanni and Magyari, Anett and Bolla, Beáta Szilvia and Erdei, Lilla and Toldi, Blanka and Kemény, Lajos and Szabó, Kornélia Ágnes}, journal-iso = {BVSZ}, journal = {BŐRGYÓGYÁSZATI ÉS VENEROLÓGIAI SZEMLE}, volume = {99}, unique-id = {34513963}, issn = {0006-7768}, year = {2023}, eissn = {2064-261X}, pages = {447}, orcid-numbers = {Erdei, Lilla/0000-0001-8129-2364; Kemény, Lajos/0000-0002-2119-9501; Szabó, Kornélia Ágnes/0000-0002-6231-3251} } @article{MTMT:34513943, title = {Mitochondrial abnormalities in the psoriatic uninvolved keratinocytes}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34513943}, author = {Matiz, Eszter and Flink, Lili Borbála and Baráth, Bálint and Sándor, Lilla and Hartmann, Petra and Kemény, Lajos and Csörgő Sándorné Bata, Zsuzsanna and Bozó, Renáta}, journal-iso = {BVSZ}, journal = {BŐRGYÓGYÁSZATI ÉS VENEROLÓGIAI SZEMLE}, volume = {99}, unique-id = {34513943}, issn = {0006-7768}, year = {2023}, eissn = {2064-261X}, pages = {447}, orcid-numbers = {Kemény, Lajos/0000-0002-2119-9501; Csörgő Sándorné Bata, Zsuzsanna/0000-0002-3732-1743; Bozó, Renáta/0000-0003-4242-2474} }
