The aim of health improvement can also be facilitated by extending the proportion of well-cared-for green areas in city centres, or, by rehabilitating particular buildings, streets, or districts; these devel- opments have an obviously beneficial psychological effect on people. The establishment of such ’livable cities’ can be rewarding from the point view of tourism, too, because, in general, tourists are happy if they can spend their free time in an urban environment which is devoid of visual conflicts. This is the reason why our team of researchers attempted to identify a so-called ’Visual Livability Index’ (VLI) with the aim of qualifying the state our urban environment is in. When identifying the formerly mentioned index, primarily those positive and negative characteristic features are determined, which may have an impact on the aesthetic value of the settlement. Then, after summarizing the results of evaluations, the next step taken is when the streets, squares, whole districts of the given settlement, or even the entire city is qualified with the help of the VLI index, thus making the results comparable with those of other similar settlements. Akkor a vizsgálatainkat a különböző típusú vizuális egységek értékelésével végeztük. Ebben a tanulmányban térinformatikai adatok (Sentinel-2 multispektrális felvételek, szakági nyilvántartási térképek) és eszközök (SNAP 8.0 – SeNtinel Applications Platform és QGIS Desktop 3.4) segítségével próbáljuk igazolni a korábbi eredményeinket és kiterjeszteni a teljes – az országhatártól Tiszakécskéig tartó – Tisza szakaszra a vizsgálatot, melynek végeredménye egy akár online használható tematikus térkép, amely a vízitúra időszakában (nyári vegetáció) színekkel mutatja, melyek a leglátványosabb partszakaszok, illetve hol van lehetőség a csónakokkal kikötésre. In our earlier publications (KARANCSI et al. 2020, 2022) we have attempted to elaborate and evaluate the research methodology of the natural and built environment of the Tisza River Valley from the point of view of landscape- and environmental aesthetics. In our current survey we used data of spatial informatics (Sentinel-2 multispectral images as well as professional registration maps) and tools (SNAP 8.0 – SeNtinel Applications Platform together with QGIS Desktop 3.4), in order to prove the correctness of the earlier, value choice- based classification of visual units of different types. In addition, we attempted to extend our study to the Tiszakécske – national border section of the river. As a result, a thematic map was created – including an online version too – which depicts the most spectacular sections of the river bank with the colours of the vegetation in summer, a typical season for water tours. Those places are also similarly marked, which are suitable for landing with water transport and/or sport vehicles. In our paper it has been proven that there is a direct link between the condition the natural environment is in and the aesthetic experience an observer gains; consequently, there is an opportunity to create the algorhythm of remote sensing-based pre-classification of a landscape. AB - Management of geological heritage assumes the existence of comprehensive inventories. This has become quite common at a regional level with the emergence of geotourism and related developments (e.g. geoparks). Several countries have already established a national geosite cadaster to inventory geological and geomorphological objects. In Hungary, since the first declaration of protected areas (1939), hundreds of natural values have been protected, including a large number of geological and geomorphological areas. Beside the thematic (e.g. geological key sections) and regional compilations (Budapest GeoGuide) currently there is no comprehensive national geoheritage cadaster yet. The recent project "Hungarian National Geosite Inventory", launched in 2019, aims to create a national inventory of geosites in order to develop a useful tool for regional geoheritage management, environmental protection and geotourism development. The national cadaster is based on regional inventories prepared in geoparks (two existing and one aspirant) and other regional landscape units, as well as available thematic datasets (e.g. key sections). The project involves research institutes, geologists, geopark and geoconservation experts giving a valuable contribution to the national cadaster. They have already proposed objects into the preliminary inventory: the filled simplified data sheets contain geographical and descriptive information about each site (geology, conservation status, protection). The objects are classified based on their major thematic interest: sedimentology, palaeontology, geomorphology, volcanism, natural resources, metamorphism, landscape values and others. The percentage of main interest varies according to the geology of the region. Currently, the inventory contains about 1000 geosites surveyed in the country. This number changes continuously, as the work proceeds in parallel with the insertion of newly processed areas. The thorough evaluation process is planned to be preceded by a qualitative assessment using representativeness, integrity, rarity, and scientific knowledge criteria. For the comprehensive documentary, the Hungarian ProGEO Section compiled a datasheet, which records the basic object data and contains indicators needed for a detailed quantitative geosite assessment (e.g. tourism infrastructure). The thematic mapping data of the selected database will be available next year, but a detailed site assessment will take several years to be completed. Our study was aimed to find out to what extent social media is influential as far as the motivations of travellers are concerned, and how compelling social media content is; also, the research was aimed to identify what feelings and emotions are triggered in travellers by actuallyvisiting the places popularized by social media. In our survey an online questionnaire was used for mapping the issues mentioned above (N=208). Our results have proven the importance of the effect of social media sites on the motivation of travellers. Also, it has been identified, that women are more active consumers of contents on social media sites, and they tend to organize their travels online more frequently, than their male counterparts. Social media users accept the information on these pages as authentic, and only a few of them have experienced disappointment when visiting the given destinations; although, men seem to be more critical and disillusioned than women. No ’compelling’ impact of the social media has been outlined, but the feeling ’FoMo’ (Fear of Missing out) has already been experienced by some of the respondents.
