It aims to provide guidance on what support is needed for startups in the post-crisis period to re-launch the economy and to contribute to the region’s economy with positive results. The research was carried out in two stages: first, in 2021 through an online survey, and then, in 2022 in-depth interviews due to the economic crisis caused by COVID-19 and the Russian–Ukrainian war. A mixed research methodology was used, which comprised an online questionnaire administered in the Crunchbase database (n = 97) and in-depth interviews among startup founders and experts of the startup ecosystem (n = 22). The research summarizes the V4 countries’ measures to protect entrepreneurship with a particular focus on startups. The research found that a crisis such as a pandemic did not have a uniformly negative impact on startups. The winners of the economic crisis are startups in IT, healthcare (Medtech. health-tech), e-commerce and digital education, while those who fared worst are startups in tourism and hospitality. The positive impact of the crisis has been a cleansing of the startup ecosystem. Business support measures supported the viable startups and helped them survive.}, year = {2023}, eissn = {2071-1050}, orcid-numbers = {Kézai, Petra Kinga/0000-0001-5427-0127} } @inproceedings{MTMT:34448313, title = {Examining the Environmental Awareness of Rural Households in Terms of Household Waste Management and Purchasing Decisions}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/34448313}, author = {Mészáros, Katalin and Németh, Nikoletta and Kurucz, Attila}, booktitle = {XVII. Households' environmental awareness can be assessed in several aspects, where the use of resources (energy use; products, and equipment purchased) and the amount of waste produced are the key elements. Conscious purchasing behaviour and, on the other hand, waste reduction is the focus of the present study, being essential not only for sustainability but also for the implementation of a circular economy. In our study, we examined the practice of households in and around Sopron by random sampling and analysed the data with SPSS statistical program. Our aim was to highlight the differences in the attitudes of people living in villages, urban agglomerations, and the city center towards selective waste collection. Our expectation was that the examined demographic variables have an effect on environmentally conscious purchasing behavior and selective waste collection. The main consequences of the research were that the population of Sopron and its surroundings is mostly aware of selective waste collection (supported by the values obtained for the willingness and disposal of selective waste) and the commitment is independent of gender, but influenced by place of residence.}, year = {2023}, pages = {3-20}, orcid-numbers = {Mészáros, Katalin/0000-0002-7867-8706} } @inproceedings{MTMT:33226542, title = {Agriculture 4.0 Applications in Supply Chain Management for Food Safety– A Structured Literature Review}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/33226542}, author = {Almelhem, Marah and Buics, László and Kurucz, Attila and Süle, Edit}, booktitle = {XVI. The Industry 4.0 trend is transforming the production capabilities of all industries as companies try to keep pace with the era of globalization and aiming to obtain a competitive advantage on the market as they benefit from technological advancements and this also applies to the agricultural sector. As the world's population is increasing, the importance of the food safety is more important than ever. As a result technological development is a necessity especially in light of the length and complexity of the global supply chains. In this study, our objective is to evaluate the attitudes of Hungarian citizens towards basic income, with a focus on its feasibility, as well as positive and negative effects. In order to accomplish this, we analyzed relevant international literature to draw up a questionnaire from studies, while also looking at background variables that potentially influence an individual’s attitude towards basic income. Results show that Hungarian citizens rather disagree about the feasibility of a basic income scheme in Hungary but they are a lot more agreeable with the EU-s capability to provide one (18.4% compared to 52%, respectively. Regarding its possible positive impacts, the most frequently mentioned items include reducing anxiety about financing basic needs, helping people return to education, and offsetting the effects of automation, while concerns about the idea of not being researched and tested enough, its effects on inflation, and its possible work-discouraging nature were listed as the most relevant negative effects.}, keywords = {Public opinion; Universal basic income; Welfare Attitudes; social protection; basic income}, year = {2022}, pages = {5-15}, orcid-numbers = {Szabó-Szentgróti, Gábor/0000-0003-2129-9067} } @inbook{MTMT:32585900, title = {A HIP projekt eredményei és perspektívái a Széchenyi István Egyetemen}, url = {https://m2.mtmt.hu/api/publication/32585900}, author = {Kurucz, Attila}, booktitle = {Vállalkozásfejlesztés a XXI. században 2021/1. kötet}, unique-id = {32585900}, abstract = {A Hallgatói Innovációs Projektek program már 5 félévet megélt a Széchenyi Egyetemen.
