	abstract = {In our paper we explore the transformative power of a collaborative research on our own academic perceptions and functions. We have been working with hard of hearing youths since the autumn of 2021 in Szeged (Hungary) in a social citizen science case study within the YouCount project to increase social inclusion in the city. During the process, we, authors of this paper, as senior hearing academics, identified significant aspects where our academic functions led to inner transformations. These experiences led us to recognize the overwhelming importance of relational aspects and caring, the perceived and fostered “slowness” of the research. Inclusion can be viewed as a joint and interdependent transformation of all actors involved towards the defragmentation of community.},

	abstract = {Understanding disability as a social phenomenon opened up the way for disability studies and social justice theories to mutually benefit from each other. One of the most significant recent advancements in the field of social justice has been the capability approach (CA) of Amartya Sen. The present paper builds on the CA to analyse disability form a social justice perspective. We argue that the CA provides several advantages when conceptualizing disability and furthering justice for disabled people. The objective of the paper is to develop a framework for analysis on the basis of the CA and to apply it through the case of D/deaf and hardof- hearing children and their carers in Szeged, Hungary. We demonstrate that the advancement of justice occurs through the scrutiny and comparison of feasible alternatives instead of arguing for principles or institutional guarantees of perfectly just societies.},

	abstract = {Tanulmányunkban amellett érvelünk, hogy amikor a fogyatékossággal élő emberek helyzetét, jóllétét szeretnénk értékelni, akkor a társadalmi környezetet és az egészségügyi szempontokat egyszerre, együttesen kell megragadni. Ezt az állításunkat egy hallássérültekkel és környezetükkel végzett részvételi akciókutatás első, megalapozó szakaszának eredményeivel támasztjuk alá. Az érintett közösség helyzetének feltárásához kvalitatív módszereket használunk, az értékelés alapját pedig az Amartya Sen nevéhez fűződő képességszemlélet adja. Úgy gondoljuk, a képességszemlélet alternatívája lehet egy hagyományos szakpolitikai megközelítésnek, és segíthet mélyebben megérteni az érintettek helyzetét és ezáltal meghatározni a megfelelő segítés módjait. A tanulmány újdonságát két dologban látjuk. Egyrészt újdonságértékű a hallássérült (siket és nagyothalló) emberekkel és környezetükkel végzett kvalitatív kutatás gyakorlati tapasztalatainak beágyazása egy részvételi akciókutatásba, másrészt eddig nem jelent meg a hazai szakirodalomban a képességszemlélet és a fogyatékosságtudomány összekapcsolása. Tanulmányunkat egyaránt szánjuk a fogyatékossággal élő emberek, különösen a hallássérültek környezetében élő segítőknek, részvételi kutatásokban jártas társadalomkutatóknak, és a fogyatékossággal foglalkozó szakpolitika döntéshozóinak.},

	abstract = {A társadalmi részvétel intézményesülésének még csak csírái találhatók meg hazánkban, ennek ellenére az érintettek bevonása a Natura 2000 területek fenntartási terveinek készítésébe már gyakorlattá vált. Értékelésük hasznos lehet a tervek készítői, a részvételi folyamatok irányítói és a természetvédelmi döntéshozók számára is. Ebben a cikkben a nemzetközi szakirodalomban alkalmazott értékelési kritériumokra építve a részvételi fenntartási tervezéshez kiválasztott és adaptált 12 szempont alapján értékelünk 23 természetvédelmi részvételi tervezési folyamatot, melyek 2007 és 2016 között valósultak meg. Vizsgálataink azt mutatják, hogy az értékelt folyamatok csak részben felelnek meg az elvárt kritériumoknak. illetve a fenntartási tervek természetvédelmi hatásainak megítéléséhez nem is rendelkezünk megfelelő információval. Az elemzésben megjelenő tervezési folyamatok erőssége a felkészült, társadalomtudományos hátterű és független részvételi csapat. Emellett azt is megállapíthatjuk, hogy a fenntartási tervezés és a kapcsolódó részvételi folyamatok sikerességéhez kiemelten fontos a támogató szakpolitikai háttér is.},

	abstract = {A természetvédelemben – az elmúlt évtizedekben lezajlott szemléletváltás következményeként
		–
		a természetvédelmi szakmán kívüli érintettek bevonása egyre
		nagyobb szerepet kap.
		
		A bevonás és a társadalmi részvétel fogalma, szükségessége és sokszínű módszertana azonban a természetvédelem szakmai berkeiben még nem széleskörűen ismert és elismert. Ennek egyik oka abban keresendő, hogy a társadalomtudományi megközelítés és tudásrendszer a természetvédelmi szakemberek szakmai szocializációjában (oktatásában és a napi munkában) nem kap egyelőre hangsúlyos szerepet.
		Cikkünkben a részvételiség fogalmát és indokoltságát tárgyaljuk az ökológiában és a természetvédelmi biológiában lezajlott paradigmaváltáshoz kapcsolódóan, valamint a társadalomtudomány által kínált tudásrendszer elemeinek bemutatásával.
		Hazai esettanulmányok segítségével illusztráljuk, hogy a részvétel gazdagítja a közösség tudását, növeli szempontjainak és értékeinek sokszínűségét az adott ügyhöz, témához kapcsolódóan (tartalmi érv), jobb döntéseket eredményez

	abstract = {Abstract Land use changes induced by nature conservation regulation and management practices, especially in protected areas, often result in trade-offs between ecosystem services (ESs). Exploring trade-offs between ESs and linking them with stakeholders can help reveal the potential losers and winners of land use changes. In this paper, we demonstrate that ES trade-offs do not always go hand in hand with conflicts. The perception of local stakeholders about trade-offs between ESs at three protected sites in the Great Hungarian Plain were assessed through qualitative methods. In all areas significant conservation measures had been introduced since the 1990s resulting in land use changes. Locals (farmers at each site and inhabitants at one site) were the main ‘losers’ of the land use changes and related ES trade-offs, while there were many winners at different spatial and temporal scales. Conflicts appeared only between locals and the national park directorates, and not between locals and other beneficiaries of the new ESs. Due to scale mismatch, locals might not be in direct contact with other stakeholders, and vice versa, and therefore there is no interface between them for confrontation and negotiation. Integrating scale into the analysis also helps in advising policy instruments to minimise local-level conflicts.},

	abstract = {With increasing road encroachment, habitat fragmentation by transport infrastructures has been a serious threat for European biodiversity. Areas with no roads or little traffic ("roadless and low-traffic areas") represent relatively undisturbed natural habitats and functioning ecosystems. They provide many benefits for biodiversity and human societies (e.g., landscape connectivity, barrier against pests and invasions, ecosystem services). Roadless and low-traffic areas, with a lower level of anthropogenic disturbances, are of special relevance in Europe because of their rarity and, in the context of climate change, because of their contribution to higher resilience and buffering capacity within landscape ecosystems. An analysis of European legal instruments illustrates that, although most laws aimed at protecting targets which are inherent to fragmentation, like connectivity, ecosystem processes or integrity, roadless areas are widely neglected as a legal target. A case study in Germany underlines this finding. Although the Natura 2000 network covers a significant proportion of the country (16%), Natura 2000 sites are highly fragmented and most low-traffic areas (75%) lie unprotected outside this network. This proportion is even higher for the old Federal States (western Germany), where only 20% of the low-traffic areas are protected. We propose that the few remaining roadless and low-traffic areas in Europe should be an important focus of conservation efforts; they should be urgently inventoried, included more explicitly in the law and accounted for in transport and urban planning. Considering them as complementary conservation targets would represent a concrete step towards the strengthening and adaptation of the Natura 2000 network to climate change.},

	abstract = {Since the 1950s, Fraxinus excelsior has colonized the open areas. Tree growth was estimated from comparison of diameter/girth measurements from 1968 and 2007. F. excelsior diameter increment was greater than that of Acer pseudoplatanus and both showed faster growth than Quercus robur. Some canopy trees died, but no large gaps formed in the closed woodland. 	abstract = {In European beech forests windstorms often create canopy gaps and change the level of incident light, soil moisture and nutrient availability on the forest floor. Understanding the interrelations between gap size and environmental change, and the effects these have on regeneration processes is a prerequisite for developing techniques of nature-based forestry. The aims of this study were to investigate the effects of gap size on the resulting spatial distributions of key abiotic environmental variables (light and soil moisture) in gaps, and to study how light and soil moisture affect the abundance and distribution of herb layer species. To do this we used eight artificially created gaps - three large (diameter: 35-40 m) and five small (diameter: 10-15 m) - in a mesotrophic submontane beech forest. Data on species' importance and substrate types were collected in systematically distributed 1 m x 1 m quadrats before gap creation and on four occasions during the next two growing seasons. Hemispherical photographs were taken and analysed to estimate relative light intensity. Soil moisture was measured by frequency domain and capacitance probes. It was found that gap size had a profound effect on the environmental variables measured. While relative light intensity values in small gaps did not reach those in large gaps, soil moisture levels did reach similar maximum values in gap centres regardless of gap size. Richness, composition and total cover of herbaceous vegetation were different in small versus large gaps. Much of this difference was attributed to the presence of specific relative light intensities and also to the increased amount of available soil moisture in gaps. Species were differently affected by the combined effects of light and soil moisture, as well as by differences in available substrates. All this resulted in species-specific distribution patterns within gaps.},
