Ring size and fusion, the different heteroatoms (P and S) and substituents on the ring systems strongly influence the mass spectra. In addition, mass spectra of the stereoisomers of compounds 1, 2 and 13, 14 revealed stereochemically relevant differences which are not observed for the other pairs of isomers.
