Die ersten Gedichte des früh, bereits mit 25 Jahren im ersten Weltkrieg verstorbenen Autors datieren sich ab 1908, die letzten sechs Jahre später. Die größte Anerkennung brachte ihm das zuerst 1911 in dem Sturm erschienene Gedicht Dämmerung, welches mit Jakob von Hoddis programmatisch expressionistischem Gedicht Weltende zu den meistgeschätzten Dichtungen der Zeit gehört. Aus dem schmalen dichterischen Lebenswerk werden von der Forschung heute jedoch nur wenige wahrgenommen. In etwa den letzten fünfzehn Jahren verzeichnen die Ausgaben der Germanistik insgesamt sechs Studien, in denen Lichtensteins oder u. a. auch seine Lyrik besprochen werden. Mindestens drei davon konzentrieren sich dabei auf die Kriegslyrik. Ma már sokan egyetértenek abban, hogy az irodalmi mű filmváltozata nemcsak annak függvényében, mintegy annak transzmediális fordításaként, hanem önálló filmművészeti alkotásként (is) értékelendő, míg mások abból indulnak ki, hogy minden filmfeldolgozás egyféle értelmezését adja az eredeti műnek. Az ebből fakadó dilemmák, főként a befogadói oldal felől szemlélve, a hűségelv kérdése körül csúcsosodnak ki. Az alkotók a különböző feldolgozástípusok esetében eltérő dilemmákkal szembesülnek, amelyek akkor rajzolódnak ki különösen élesen, ha egy-egy művet több alkalommal is megfilmesítettek. Studien zufolge fehlen den Lehrkräften inklusiver Klassen allerdings oft das Bewusstsein, die Ausbildung und die Ressourcen, um den besonderen Bedürfnissen von Schüler*innen mit Legasthenie gerecht zu werden. Mittlerweile gibt es einige wenige englischsprachige Unterrichtsmaterialien für Lernende mit LRS auf dem internationalen Markt, doch für den Deutschunterricht ist dementsprechendes Material rar. Das ENGaGE Projekt lief 2017-2020. In seinem Rahmen wurde eine flexible und thematisch strukturierte digitale Aufgabensammlung für die Unterrichtsfächer Englisch und Deutsch erstellt, die den gesonderten didaktischen Bedürfnissen von Lernenden mit LRS entspricht und ihnen die aktive Mitarbeit im Unterricht ermöglicht. Das Projekt wurde für die 4.-8. Klasse (Altersgruppe 10 bis 14 Jahre) entwickelt, und das Sprachniveau reicht bis zum Niveau A2 des GER. Screenager, die digitale Plattform von ENGaGE, auf der die Aufgaben zur Verfügung stehen, bietet eine multisensorische Lernumgebung mit einer Vielzahl von Aufgabentypen und digitalen Formaten. Gleichzeitig können Lehrkräfte den Lernfortschritt ihrer Schüler*innen verfolgen und individuell mitgestalten.
