	abstract = {We seem to know more about the life of Jeremiah, than about
		the lives of other prophets in the Old Testament. Information
		on his life in his book can help significantly to understand
		his oeuvre and accomplishment. The prophets’ fight seems
		to be the private affair of some religious people. However,
		Jeremiah
		and the nabis (prophets) fought for the survival of
		a country. In theological discourses the evaluation of the false
		prophets is still in progress, therefore we can bravely state that
		it is a hot contemporary issue today. We can only understand
		the fight between Jeremiah and the prophets in its depth if we
		analyze the characteristic features on the historical background
		in our investigations. From the point of view of religious ethics,
		a shocking situation developed in Judea. Jerusalem was “decorated”
		with statues and altars of Assyrian Star-Gods. Sacrifice
		was offered before alien idols on Mount Sion. This is when
		Jeremiah appeared at around BCE 626. In this present paper the
		author will analyze the content of the poems 23.9-12 written by
		Jeremiah based on the following methodology: first the paper
		presents the translation of the text, then the determination of the
		boundaries of the sections followed by remarks concerning the
		translation. The author introduces and gives a brief account of
		different views and opinions. These literary analyses will point
		at internal lines of cohesion, which characterize the examined
		296
		section. The author attempts to collate and provide a literary
		analysis of the section with the thoughts of the Old Testament,
		the Torah, as well as with other Books of Prophets, and with
		the oeuvre of Jeremiah as a whole. While analyzing the history
		of the form, the author looks at the structural features of the
		text; when he analyses a text written in a poetic form, he points
		at the proportion of “stichos”, “meter” and “verses” (the basic
		unit in Hebrew is a foot). The last phase is an analysis from the
		point of view of the history of the tradition and an exegesis. The
		former investigates the influence of a potential literary edition,
		as well as the original authentic element, while the latter, by
		paying attention to the earlier aspects, summarizes the section
		as an exegesis in practice. In the examined sections, the author
		uses his own translations.
		The Book of Jeremiah is a living text, which still has an influence
		today, since finding the way out of the crisis is only possible
		through a moral renewal.},
