This article summarises the constitutional foundations of Hungarian environmental
law, the basic principles of regulation, and the rules of civil criminal and administrative
liability. In the second part, we explain the regulations governing the environmental
protection institutional system and the supervisory system. We describe and compare
administrative sanctions in environmental protection. At the end of the article, we
distinguish between the administrative and criminal law instruments of Hungarian environmental
law.
