A teremtés elbeszélése számára nem azért fontos, mert magyarázatra szorul a világ
eredete, hanem azért, mert a káoszból rend lett. Ennek az állapotnak az értékelése,
hogy a rend jó. Az Istennel kötött szövetségben a teremtés jóságának folytonossága
tapasztalható. Az ettől a szövetségtől való eltérésben, amikor az ember azt teszi,
amit jónak lát, újra a káosz bizonytalansága uralkodik el – ezt mutatja be a Bírák
könyve. | The people’s experience about God in the Old Testament is that God acts
in history. The story of the creation is important not because the origins of the
world need to be explained, but because chaos has become ordered. The assessment of
this status is that order is good. In God’s covenant there is a continuity of the
goodness of creation. In deviating from this covenant, when individuals do what they
see as good, the instability of chaos reigns again – as shown in the Book of Judges.
