Eclectus parrots is one of the genera included in the Psittacidae family. This genus has recently been divided into 5 species in the IOC v14.1 (2024): Eclectus roratus (3 subspecies), E. cornelia, E. riedeli, E. polychloros (3 subspecies) and E. infectus (extinct). Subspecies of Eclectus roratus westermani from Banda islands, was extinct before known. Manusela National Park in Seram Island is one important Moluccan eclectus distribution area. Massive exploitation of all types of parrots has resulted in a sharp decline in their population in nature. This study attempts to monitor the Moluccan eclectus population in the Manusela National Park Area in 2020 and 2023. The survey method was carried out in the morning at 07.00-10.00 using the fixed width line transect (FWLT) method with a distance between lines of one km and a visibility of 50 m. The survey was conducted by taking random locations representing all resorts in Manusela National Park. The difference in the number of routes in each survey location is adjusted to the conditions and landscape at the survey location. In the southern region of the Manusela National Park Area, the habitat conditions are generally steep, have sharp slopes, making it difficult for observation. The density of the Moluccan eclectus is very low, from the five survey locations recorded each at Wailomatan Moso resort, Solea Sasarata resort, and Kaloa Sariputih resort each 4 individualss/10 ha, Yamitala Saunulu resort 2 individuals/10 ha, and swamps along the river at the Sasarata resort 5 individuals/10 ha. Comparing data between 2020 and 2023, the population increased from 1 individual/10 ha to 4 individual/10 ha. However, this does not mean that the species is in a safe condition, but this increase is due to the location and area of the survey required.
