Linguistic landscaping of classrooms with the SSS method
This paper deals with the possibilities of conscious, well prepared linguistic landscaping
as a language
design activity in the classroom (i.e. in the microstructure). The main character
in this process is the
teacher, who can shape the students’ image of the world (linguistic landscaping as
a knowledge and
value transmission activity) through bottom-up activities (such as creating and using
posters, bulletin
boards and visual board games). The work points out to the classroom linguistic landscaping
as a
positive language attitude towards non-standard elements and forms (e.g., dialects,
slangs and foreign
words) through a survey among university students and with the SSS method. The abbreviation
means
spreading, sociability and situation (Lőrincz–Istók–Baka 2022: 71–74).
