In his paper the author deals with the antique sources concerning the Boii in the
Carpathian Basin before the Roman conquest. Strabo as the most important source on
the history of the Boii does not confirm the total extinction of the tribe either.
It seems that their territory north of the Danube was evacuated under Augustus, probably
6 AD (latest 19 AD). Boiohaemum was only a part of the Boian territory occupied later
by the Marcomanni.
