Globally, these three factors are leading to a steady decline in the economic potential and competitiveness of the European Union. The challenge of the demographic winter is a fact that must be given due attention at EU decision-making levels. The family is a priority for the majority of Europeans, and there is a strong need to support it; Europe’s citizens believe to tackle the demographic challenges and depopulation by strengthening families, not by encouraging migration.
