The town of Carei was commercial and administrative center of the area during the Middle Ages. The archaeological research was carried out on a rather big plot (3027 sqm) situated close to the medieval nucleus of the settlement and the castle. 90 archeological features were discovered; five of them dates to the late Middle Ages (15th to 16th century), while the majority are from the modern and recent period: 17th to 18th cent, and the turn of the 19th and 20th cent.
