Ongoing research on Adam Smith is constantly opening up new chapters. The anniversary
of his 300th birthday is a good opportunity to uncover certain unknown and misunderstood
details of his oeuvre. The present paper aims to reveal missing data and contexts,
to overwrite existing stereotypes concerning his thoughts and, last but not least,
to implement new methods and results of interdisciplinary research.
