Giant cell tumor

Giant cell tumor (GCT) is a locally aggressive benign bone tumor. Diagnosis is based on biopsy and histological analysis. Adjuvant therapeutic options like denosumab treatment or local adjuvants are available in the management; however, their long-term effect is not known. Surgical treatment can be challenging because of the rich blood supply and the proximity of neural elements. Inadequate surgical resection can result in local recurrence (LR) which is more difficult to treat. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2022. All rights reserved.
