The CPDLC has significantly improved the efficiency and accuracy of communications,
leading to increased air safety. It is clear that it has become an essential tool
in modern air traffic control systems and will continue to play a critical role in
ensuring their safe and efficient operation. Technological innovations have further
enhanced the CPDLC, providing additional capabilities and further improving communication
between pilots and pilots. Accordingly, the aim of this publication is to present
the operation and built-in protection mechanism of an air navigation system developed
in the 20th century but still in use today, highlighting the built-in vulnerabilities.
