This phenomenon is prevalent in precision and micro-cutting technologies. As an investigation, a set of face grooving turning tests was carried out, where the removed material’s cross-section could be measured afterwards. This experiment setup ensures that the specific cutting force and specific acoustic emission values are determined precisely. With these values being examined, it is possible to identify the stable conditions of the process depending on the removed material layer’s thickness. Furthermore, we investigated the two ndicators’ similarities in their characteristics and the effect of the cutting parameters.
