Nowadays, museums operating in various countries in the world
perform a vital role in education. Serving the learning and leisure
needs of children, students, young people, and families is a particularly
significant part of their social mission. In recent years, there has been a
growing worldwide interest in museums – among children and school
groups and young people, adults, and the elderly. The following study
presents the diversity of motivation for museum visitors, and the range of
didactics methods most commonly used in museums. We also talk about
the specific cultural needs and requirements of the target groups of each
visitor. In addition, some good practices are also described. It can be seen
that museums offer a wide range of interactive programs that are useful
and valuable in their leisure time and connection with school lessons.
