Számos klinikai vizsgálat igazolta hatékonyságát, kombinálva különböző csontpótló anyagokkal.Elkészítéséhez a páciens saját vérét, alvadásgátló hozzáadása nélkül a kidolgozott protokoll szerint centrifugálják. A fo- lyamateredményeként leukocytákban és trombocytákban gazdag fibrin-alvadék nyerhető, mely extracelluláris mátrixként szolgál. A fehérvérsejtek és vérlemezkék növekedési faktorai lassan (2–3 hét) szabadulnak fel, így kedvezően befolyásolják a sebgyógyulást.
