Studien zufolge fehlen den Lehrkräften inklusiver Klassen allerdings oft das Bewusstsein, die Ausbildung und die Ressourcen, um den besonderen Bedürfnissen von Schüler*innen mit Legasthenie gerecht zu werden. Mittlerweile gibt es einige wenige englischsprachige Unterrichtsmaterialien für Lernende mit LRS auf dem internationalen Markt, doch für den Deutschunterricht ist dementsprechendes Material rar. Das ENGaGE Projekt lief 2017-2020. In seinem Rahmen wurde eine flexible und thematisch strukturierte digitale Aufgabensammlung für die Unterrichtsfächer Englisch und Deutsch erstellt, die den gesonderten didaktischen Bedürfnissen von Lernenden mit LRS entspricht und ihnen die aktive Mitarbeit im Unterricht ermöglicht. Das Projekt wurde für die 4.-8. Klasse (Altersgruppe 10 bis 14 Jahre) entwickelt, und das Sprachniveau reicht bis zum Niveau A2 des GER. Screenager, die digitale Plattform von ENGaGE, auf der die Aufgaben zur Verfügung stehen, bietet eine multisensorische Lernumgebung mit einer Vielzahl von Aufgabentypen und digitalen Formaten. Gleichzeitig können Lehrkräfte den Lernfortschritt ihrer Schüler*innen verfolgen und individuell mitgestalten.
