A technológia fejlôdésének köszönhetôen jelentôsen javult a koraszülöttek túlélési esélye. Magyarországon a jelenleg hatályos jogi szabályozásban azonban nem jelenik meg szempontként a kiskorúak életminôsége. Közleményünk célkitûzése, hogy összehasonlítsa a neonatológiai ellátásban (NIC) dolgozó szakszemélyzet véleményének húsz év alatt bekövetkezett változását a súlyosan károsodott újszülöttek intenzív kezelésének korlátozásáról. MÓDSZERTAN – Kvantitatív, teljeskörû szociológiai felmérések a magyarországi NIC-ekben, önkitöltôs, anonim kérdôívekkel (n = 728). Az adatok értékelése kereszttábla-elemzéssel és Pearson χ2-próbával történt. EREDMÉNYEK – A válaszadók többsége a két kutatás szerint abban egyetértett, hogy amennyiben az újszülött állapota fatális, indokolt lehet korlátozni az intenzív terápiát. Általában nôtt a kezeléskorlátozás elfogadottsága, de az aktív eutanázia továbbra sem elfogadott az ellátásban. A válaszadók többsége nem elégedett a hatályos jogrenddel, megjelenik a változtatás igénye, különösen a fatális és rossz prognózis esetében. KÖVETKEZTETÉSEK – Annak ellenére, hogy a hatályos magyar egészségügyi törvény súlyos esetekben sem engedélyezi a kezelés korlátozását, a magyarországi NIC-en dolgozók jelentôs hányada bizonyos esetekben megengedhetônek tartaná, ráadásul a támogatók aránya az elmúlt két évtizedben még növekedett is.
